A Question About HostMonster/Bandwidth

So I've got the basic package at host monster and it says "unlimited bandwidth" however obviously it isn't unlimited as I believe I remember reading that if your site is hogging resources they'll cut your site off.

I was just wondering how much bandwidth you'd have to be using for this to happen. I want to host a flash game on my site and I'm guessing the initial burst of people I get playing it when I submit it to reddit will be fairly high.

Do you think this is going to be a problem?

When you have shared hosting package you can forget of bandwidth. Make sure your applications don't use too much resources.

It's all about CPU and memory.

Keep an eye on your resources. How many visitors do you anticipate being online at once?

At the start, probably about 6-10 people will be checking it out every minute. This will go on for about 12 hours after posting dropping until there is about 1 per minute at about the 8 hour mark.

I'm not sure how much resources a flash game takes.

Is it a multiplayer flash game? (I guess not...) If it isn't, it should be anywhere from 5-50 before they cut you off. If it is, i would start looking for a small VPS or a semi-dedicated service.

You shouldn't have a problem. Depends on the mood of HostMonster really!
