I've been studying poker recently, reading a few books, watching cash games online, etc...and I'm just about ready to make my first deposit. I figured some of you webmasters made side money off poker...any of you making a decent income off it?
I did play a bit of Poker at WassOnline, but that was about 2-3 months back.... Hardly get time these days... Regards, RightMan
I used to play poker some couple of years back though was an amateur. I have completely forgotten all about poker. A quick guide can refresh anyway. Interesting game but i've never played online, I'ld be beaten by experts
I have put in about $50 dollars in an account for poker about 8 months ago just to try it, and I haven't played since. I am not the best poker player
Affiliate Links are not allowed in Posts btw I never played poker and will never play I dont like losing money
Poker isn't for making "a reasonable income"... Poker is for fun, and mathematically, you lose more than you win when you gamble. Of course, if your a professional, it would still be hard to make money, as no one plays professionals (since they know they would lose ---> loss of money) so no one but other professionals would play you. Yes, I've played poker and still am in FullTiltPoker, and I just play for fun.
I play poker very often, it's my side income for now. My online winnings are for my vacations, and my B&M winnings are towards my savings. I try to play B&M twice a week, and online on the weekends and of course at work all day, lol. Gotta love wireless aircards.
I play a bit, and am about level over the last 6 months. I think it's probably possible for a reasonable player to make small, steady profits by playing only in low-stake, single-table sit-n-go competitions (up to and including $10 entry), because the standard's really pretty poor. A reasonable player should be able to be in the prize-money 50% of the time, overall, which will lead to small overall profits, but it gets boring, and the amounts of money involved are pretty small. The great attraction of sit-n-go events, in financial terms, is that playing in those, rather than in cash games, effectively minimises the standard deviations in one's results (and it's the staking that's most people's undoing with online poker).
yes i play everyday from 7pm onwards. During the day im working making graphics. Yes you can make small profits on a monthly basis if your good and stick to your plan. Low stakes 5c/10c cash is profitable but negative deviations are more common than < $10 sng's (as mentioned above) If you can do the math and always make the profitable play by working out the probability of you hitting your card, then u will win long terrm.
I play cash games on Full Tilt sometimes. Alexa, you don't play sit-n-gos to make money with poker To each their own though tournaments are not my thing.
Im looking to get into online poker ive been saying this for a while and something always comes up. Although i dont have a clue about cards.
iv played online poker for the last 4 years. now a days i play cash games on a daily basis. I usually play tables from a 100$ max buy in to a 400$ max buy in. I look out for $800 games, in case there is a good opportunity to make some money. I primarily play on Full Tilt. I'm not a good webmaster, and have made no money that way If you have any questions and want to talk to a winning player, feel free to ask me. I'm not a regular on this forum, but I will stay tuned.
This is not true at most stakes. For instance; if you play at medium or high limits (cash games with $600+ buy in) then yeah, almost everyone at the NLHE tables will be pros/good players. But.... if you play lower than that, there will always be tables with bad players. Now a days, most bad players are decent (compared to 3 years ago). But they still end up losing money. So if you play from NL200 to NL400, there are still opportunities to find a good game, but I would not recommend sitting at random tables if you are new; you will go broke very fast. If you sit at low stakes games: 100$ buy in and lower; the tables will be full of bad players. People who just like to gamble, and don't really understand the game fully. The best way is to start at the bottom, get better, and move up.
