Hi guys, nice little contest here for you, here are the details: Sites primary function is a search engine for courses within the sites database Here is the layout idea: Logo top left corner, with banner ad placement to the right Directly underneath a navigation bar with pull down menus to include the following: Home | Courses | Course Seeker s| Course Providers | Freelance Trainers | Find a Trainer | News | Articles | Help | Contact Us In the main window to the right will be the following sections accessible using graphics & text similar to this site http://www.learndirect.co.uk/ Lifelong Learning Business Training Career Prospects College & 3rd Level Apprenticeships & Trades Sports & Fitness To the left hand side of the window there is to be 3 sections to be utilised as follows; Find your course search facility Intro section explaining the site and what is available on it. Learning video site layout to be bright, clean, primary colours with use of white space for freshness... See attached image for clarification on the above ideas. The example image is very rough, and need not be taken as gospel, but is a decent guideline. We're gearing towards a quick contest here, we want this design asap. So we're going to give it 3 days, ending Jan 3rd, 23:59. The prize as stated is $150. And as usual, while we certainly don't want to, we reserve the right not to choose a winner should none of the designs meet our needs, or extend the contest if we feel it's just not quite done. Are we creating the logo? What's the website's name? Do we need to code our entry or is this just design only? Cheers
We would like a logo, the existing one isn't great. As for coding, that will be discussed one on one with any entrants that we feel are likely to win, for the moment we just want you to concentrate on the design.

hi all have received a couple of entries today, and we are pleased to finally see some promising work, so this contest will be extended as i understand with the holidays some of you are only just returning. i don't understand one thing. Do you want the right side to have 8 images like the example site you gave us and on the left three big buttons that keep the same weight of the 8 images ?
hi zeba! not quite. you are correct about the right side. however, the left side is not buttons, they are three seperate sections. the top is a search box, the primary function of the site. simply the term 'search courses' or something similar, and then a search input and submit button. the middle is actually going to be a body of text, outlining the idea behind the site, with a nice header image perhaps over the text the bottom is actually going to be a video i hope this answers your question!
