Just because of that Ill register any .com with classmates from now on, Ill start looking now see what I can get. Violentclassmates.com, Loudclassmates.com, Stonedclassmates.com, Smartclassmates.com Ill try to nab anything I can just to piss off that retarded company. They should have offered to buy it from you before they even thought about doing that to you.

You really should talk to a lawyer. Yes, it would be expensive if it goes to court, but if they see your argument, they might back off. Trademarking "classmates" not only limits competition, it creates a monopoly and precludes fair competition. It would be like Coke trademarking cola or Ford trademarking the word automobile.

How can someone be given a trademark for such a generic name such as classmates? Tomorrow, if someone gets a trademark for 'bank', most of the banking websites which have the word 'bank' as a part of their names, will have to surrender their established domain names? This is crazy!

With all this trademarks and copyrighted words... in the nearly future we have to pay a fee if we say a trademarked word in a conversation lol ahaha ;)
Well good luck with this issue

Looks like the OP still has the domain name if one checks its WHOIS record in
the first page of this thread.

I have a question. What if someone from Africa would have the ownership of the domain name? And he simple doesn't want to let the domain name. Or someone from Iran? What might be the consequences?

    Thanks

It doesn't matter where you live, in a WIPO action, the domain would be taken and turned over if the case is successful.

Bloody they just wanted to have your domain name by giving u a small amount.
The one thing you can do is that stop your website, if you don't they will have legal actions against you.

Read up on trademarks - it doesn't work that way.

Yes perhaps thats the way you have been raised in USA. There are laws for everything but I can assure you that things are totally different in other countries
