No, No and No. I have bought traffic only once it didnt work and on reflection I do not know what I expected. It is far too cheap and generally the traffic is being misled, automated or redirected and therefore probably not interested in what you have to say. Only kindof bought traffic that works is the ones where the user voluntarily clicks on an ad to your site such as ppc but of course it is far more expensive.

I highly doubt it will convert..purchased traffic results only in increase in number of vists, pageloads.

Yes, John, buying traffic, advertising does work.

How do you think any website got to be so big?

Go to big-boards.com, and I am sure that there are a number of webmasters there who advertised to bring in more members. Then they let word of mouth take over.

You just have to make sure you choose the right advertising company.

Even if they sign-up, its useless if they will not stay and will not post... on my experiemce, buying traffic is useless.. so don't waste your money... pay for ppc instead..

You have to be very careful when buying traffic. Far too often one only ends up buying "hits" and not actual visitors.

Ask lots of questions. If possible ask someone who has purchased traffic from the source you are considering.

Track your results carefully and when you find a reliable source that sends real targeted visitors, stick with them.

Totally agree. Buying traffic will only increase your website traffic stats.

yes, you are buying adwords but it is totally different from what the general idea means... If that is what you think then all processes are being bought...

Buying traffic means paying sopmeone to visit your site or paying a company to send traffic to your site... it is totally different from PPC...

is buying traffic same as advertising? i guess those who sell traffic are the one's who would advertise for you until your package expires or until you get the number of visitors you purchased.?

but i think some use artificial traffic like bots?...

anybody who owns a forum? have you tried buying traffic? did it convert into active members?

Yes, buying traffic IS advertising. Of course.

One more thing...when or if you buy traffic, ask to see the list of sites that have already bought traffic from.

This is common, so don't be afraid to ask.

Although such sites, like, Askmen is more of an online magazine, they got A LOT of traffic their first year from advertising, buying traffic.

    Just do your research.

From the experience i had with buying traffic like that, i wouldn't recommend it.
Especially if we are talking about a forum.

Don't buy traffic. Even if it is targeted. Probably they will stay on your website for few seconds.
Long stary short. Buying traffic is not worth the money.

Use that money for something else.

I don't have a board, but this thread is yet another example why I don't worry about the competition. Practically all don't know how to advertise, and then they say it doesn't work. Stupid? Yup, but good for us who do know how to advertise. heh heh :D

I love the posters here. They're so stupid, and they are a good indicator of many of the webmasters out there. ;-)

yeah.. i was also thinking it would be fake traffic.. but take a look at this website: http://www.fulltraffic.net/index.php.. not sure about this though but i think they are saying visitors are real human visitors that come from pop up advertising.. and they got targeted traffic categories like Art, Automotive, ect...:)

you've got to get TARGETED UNIQUE traffic. My Blog runs like a miracle now because of this site I found 4 months ago.
    they are realtrafficsource.com
They provide real legit targeted trafic that's 100% unique. Most traffic out there is cheap redirected and forced to increase alexa ranking only.
I found them advertising on another site and if you use the promo code "WebProWorld" they will double the traffic package you order. So if you buy 100,000 visitors they will change that to 200,000 only if you use the promo code.
