Ok i want to create a url around a keyword which im targeting, however the .org, .net, .com are taken. Also other extensions like info, us, etc are taken. Should i add a extra keyword to the end, or a symbol like www.keyword-keyword.com because no one has this domain? Or what do you normally do in a situation like this?
If there is that much competition for the same domain name, you need to be unique and come up with another name entirely.
I usually do something like say the keyword was Music Id put other keywords infront or after for example ThinkMusic SimplyMusic Music-x etc
Add some suffix, or prefix or maybe both to your keyword and you will get the domain with your keywords. It won't harm ....
You can also dig into the more obscure TLDs like .ws .cc and .tv Probably better to go with a .com with a hyphen or prefix though, unless the topic actually fits .tv
add a word to the end of your keyword if trying to create a keyword domain. it is a better anchor, both ways work but at the end seems to do a lot better in most cases and also I do not recommend using a uncommon TLD!
Use a TLD that is common, .com, .net, .org Add a suffix, or add a whole word to the end, 'store', 'blog', etc.
Try to avoid hyphens whenever possible. Also I wouldn't deviate from .com, .net, or.org. In terms of brandability and legitimacy, those are guidelines you'll want to follow.
He said info and all generic was taken too. There's tons of short pre/su - fixes to add without hyperns.
