My blog runs on wordpress and while going on to make a new post last night I found I was unable to access my site due to this error code: Parse error: parse error, unexpected $ in /home/content/b/f/r/bfree74/html/wp-load.php on line 46 I need to get this fixed asap and I am willing to pay if someone can get this resolved quickly. Before this happened I had not touched the database, code or anything else. If you think you can help reply here or pm me your offer.
open the directory you posted and go to line 46 or 45... post the line 45 and 46.. if there's unecessary $ delete it and refresh..
Did you by any chance use any restricted characters in a post? $ & { } [ ] things like that? $ in this error message most like refers to variable. I would think the wp scripts would be smart enoug to strip them all out but your never know.
More than likely, your problem is caused by forgetting a semi-colon ; at the end of line 45 (the one above the line causing the error). If it's not a semi-colon missing, it's something else wrong on that line. Just paste lines 45 and 46 here like a couple others said.
I guess we just all assumed if he had gotten a fresh copy of WordPress, there should be no errors. Either way, there is an error there, and it'll help if they paste lines 45 and 46.
Here's an idea... Something is obviously wrong with wp-load.php so just upload a fresh copy and replace it.
