Dose anyone have a tool or know of one that will let me search for pligg and scuttle sites? And if some1 has a list, can you please share the list? Thanks
Check out http://forums.pligg.com/my-pligg-site/, it has tons of newer pligg sites. Pligg is not necessarily "dofollow", the redirect does carry some weight although some webmasters tired of spam have turned on the nofollow option to their upcoming sections. I, however, have not. Check out my sig if you're looking for a socia bookmarking site that is dofollow and aimed at webmasters. Hope this helps!
You can use Google to search for these sites by using the following terms: Pligg: "Powered by Pligg" Scuttle: "Recent Bookmarks" "Recent Tags" "sort by"
Thanks for the responses, I am looking for about 5 - 10 thousand pligg and scuttle sites. So far I have ~5 thousand pligg sites (~95% working) and a few hundred scuttle sites. Using automated programs to scrape results from google seem to be the best way to do this, but I keep getting non pligg/scuttle sites, which I have to manually take out :/.
Is Pligg something interesting that really works? It seems like nobody cares much about another social media sites as there are 3000 out there already. Anybody have any good experiences with it and is there more power in Pligg than copying Digg.com ?
SIFLUR, I am talking about downloading Pligg and setting up the site yourself. I expect you're talking about finding Pligg sites to submit your website. Which would be fine and make sense to build backlinks! Have you setup your own Pligg site or not? What's the experience and key to success?
Yes, I did set one up around 1.5 year ago. Started building links and reached a PageRank of 5 after 4 months. Traffic wasn't too high and it only generated about .5$ a day so I deleted it. With the experiences I have today I could probably improve it - but too late. Pligg sites isn't a game for noobs (either a million dollar thing). You should start out with something different
thanks for your story! It's what I thought it would be. I guess it could be interesting for some countries who are behind on the whole social-media thing, for example The Netherlands only has 3 social-media sites out there: - Nujij.nl - Ekudos.nl - Msn Reporter (nl.reporter.msn.com) For Thailand I haven't seen one around yet.
Yeah, something more local could work out. But what about starting something like hubpages instead? Probably easier to brand But I gotta ask, you have a seo company in Thailand and a hotel in Ghana?
hotel in Ghana is our biggest SEO client trying to see what kind of impact a link in the sig will have
