Hi All, I am facing a problem on my computer lately. My internet browsing is extremely extremely extremely slow, about 5 minutes to load a page. This really make me fed up when doing my websites coz the loading is very time consuming. I suspect my computer have been affected by spywares or virus... Any suggestions? Or any softwares to use? any freeware that is good to overcome this problem? Any suggestion is welcome. Thanks.
There are so many reason like your internet speed is slow, use firefox browser and not ie , remove temporary internet file, thanks.
My guess is that you have been infected by a virus, the best way is to save your work and just re-install your OS, I guarantee it will be a lot faster.
Thanks cool. Most probably is the virus or spyware. Apart from re-install, any anti-virus or anti-spyware softwares that i can use to clear things up?
try nod 32 together with malwarebytes. Both have a free trial, and the comination of both will clean 99% of all virusses. When your pc is clean install comodo firewall, and watch closely what processes try to connect with the internet.
I suggest that you use a different browser such as firefox, as it has been found to have faster load speed then IE
1st : Click on the start button, select Run, type in "cmd", and you notice a command prompt show up. Type in ping anydomainname.com (domain name must exist). See if there is any loss in the statistic report. 2nd : Could it be due to the connection, about Undersea cable which is still under fix currently? 3rd : Try out the Google Chrome, see if its load faster for any page. Above is part of some test to diagnose the internet connection. If you still suspect that it could be virus, you might want to go for Online Scan for free from Trend Micro.
Please remove all your internet temporary file. Another thing please use Firefox. Maybe it is working for you.
I guess this happens because of a adware infects to the computer. It might be using the bandwidth. Please scan using a adware removing tool.
speed test http://member.dnsstuff.com/pages/devlab.php#SpeedTestSection delete temporary internet files download and install malwarebytes. run in safe mode. download and install avg
yup malwarebytes rules, but AVG is not the best option. You better download NOD 32, it has a trial version of 1 month and is the AntiVirus nr 1
Actually, the first thing I would do is boot into safe made with networking to see if it's a process running on startup causing this. Try it...boot into safe mode with networking (usually hit F8 or F10 on start up) jump on the internet and see if the problem still exists. If the problem exists, then it's more than likely a process that starts when Windows loads normally. Still exists? Boot to Windows normally, run task manager and look for suspicious processes that are running. Post back here if if you have any questions.
i just listed avg as a free anti-virus option. i'm sure there are many out there but, i run avg and malwarebytes
Spyware Doctor is amazing - checkout download.com they have a free trial.. not sure if you can clean up the viruses it finds with the trail though..
some times it may happen ,If you have too many install/un installed softwares Just use task manger to find which are useless and remove them completely from system
