Anyone notice Earth4Energy is down? Here's where all my links bring me... http://suspended.hostgator.com/?domain=www.earth4energy.com
Might have had too much traffic I'm sure it's only a little problem what ever it is, hopefully it will be back up shortly for those promoting it. I wonder if Swerd knows?
Yeah... well his ezcbcash domain is also down... so it looks like the've suspended his IP address. So, probably all the sites he has on that account are down. I'm sure he's having a nightmare right now! Hopefully it's only a minor problem and he can fix this or else I just lost a part of my income! lol
I've experienced this a few times where the webhost just takes down your site for some reason or another without bothering to tell you they are going to do it. That's when you realize they are just kidding when they talk about "unlimited" anything.
I had a problem with hostgator aswell. Like most shared hosting accounts you can only use like 25% of the server resources and one day my webste went over and I was forced to buy a server which was quite a hassle and it took nearly 2 days to get everything back to normal. This may be the problem with Swerds account.
haha, i just wanted to post this. Swerd, the "other" sites, are those yours too? I notice the other CB sites regarding that alternative energy theme charge the same price for their product, just wondering. Or did they just copy your product?
Ok, the reason - An affiliate was spamming their affiliate link. In future - All affiliates who spam their affiliate link will have their CB account terminated. If I see a large number of hops with a poor conversion rate for any product at ezcbcash - Clickbank will be contacted and your account will be banned. And yes, this can and will be done. All websites will be online shortly. regards,
So all your websites were down for the period? That sucks How come a single affiliate managed that spammed to do such thing? I mean you have hundreds of affiliates and probably tens of thousands of hops for your product. How did one affiliate managed to do so something so severe that your website was brought down. Was your site reported for spam and suspended, or did it go down due to too much traffic? Just curious about this, in case something like this happens with one of my products.
They probably bought fake hits without realising....so Swerd will have had about 100,000 pings @ his IP within an hour or something. Hostgator pull the plug incase it's a real security threat. I do hope such a site as Earth4Energy is not on shared hosting though....
Hello Swerd!! Its a HELL of a differnce whether an affiliate is spamming, since spamming is against TOS of each and any ISP as well as Clickbank. But i dont think you have any grounds to stand on to "complain" to CB about "high number of hops" and poor conversions, because it can very well be that someone has a poor conversion rate (what numbers are we talking here?) "Punishing" an affiliate by BANNING them from CB because of "poor conversion"???
mikey - Yeah, I think a lot of new affiliates fall for this type of thing. Georger - I will check the hops and where the traffic is coming from also.. not just poor conversion.. I understand what you mean. Im not talking 1:500.. Im talking worse conversion rate. I just want affiliates to know that I will be policing large numbers of non converting hops + all traffic stats. Im also organising a backup host so that if something like this happens again it all gets back online in a few minutes. Everything is back online and I do apologise to all affiliates for this problem
ahh damn - i was wondering why my sales fell of for a lil while there - can you give me a timeframe on the period for which it was down? I was getting killer sales yesterday then BAM, nothing
You were getting killer sales? man how you do that? I spent $200 on adwords last week, and just did 2 sales for Earth4Energy... (I was bidding $0.80 per kw, maybe it was that...)
heeh i spent $200 on adwords for e4e yesterday - just keep tracking man, find the golden keywords, make sure each keyword is tested with suffiecent click thrus, even if u have to test 1 by one, test all 3 match types, broad, phrase and exact. test landing pages, run multiple ads. you will lose money at first, but once u find good keywords u wil be golden
Thanks for the tip. Also, i was only targeting US and Canada... maybe if i make my campaign worldwide i get more hops and have more chances of them converting. dcristo: Yes, it sucks, a lot... you lose all your hope, specially when you are starting out like me.
No, stick to USA only, then once u get some converting keywords move to canada, my personal experience shows that USA converts over canada for this.. thats just my stats tho. the thing that i've found with clickbank is that i have more luck profitting when i'm bidding between like .20 and .30 /click - now this may sound obvious, but honestly it was an expensive lesson for me to learn, anything above that would just be too much money and my margins would shrink drastically. Obviously there are keywords that will convert really well but cost a lot, like bidding on the name earth4energy and such, i just don't like dealing with those personally.
