I wrote a short blog entry about why I submit paid directories and questions I ask myself when I do. So, I would like to know why other webmasters as well. So, what makes you pay for an inclusion?
Good Entry written there. I do Think 1 thing - If The category has Many Listings already, then i Go for paid so that it is Featured in the top. And I get More Traffic is my Belief.
That's a great point. But, what if the featured is $24.95 and the Regular for the Paid directory is less? Which do you go for and why?
If The Featured rates are too high like 25$ then i check the quality of the directory. As I already said - If It has Many listings And I hope to get a good traffic and if the Directory has good PR, then i don't think that 25$ Would Be hard to give away. I never Pay More Than 10$ for featured in new directories with few listings. The Main Thing I think is The no. of Listings and PR of the Directory
Who can specifically tell that how many Visitors a directory has Got for us Directories like Exoode etc. give a bit good amount of Traffic
I would consider paying if the page (and the links already on it) were highly relevant to the topic, or better still, keywords I'm targetting. Or.. if the directory was well established (BOTW.org, Yahoo! for instance..) and fairly related to my sites topic. Pete
That is another good observation. I have a feeling that a lot of webmasters "jump on the bandwagon" when the directory becomes well known or established. Even if it makes a dent in their pocket. It works wonders and that's why some directory owners make millions each year.
