I have a ecommerce website that I am building traffic with many different ways such as article submissions, URL submissions, meta tags, blogs, etc. How do I get on the first page of google. Are there any other key ingredients that I am missing for this equation to work out? The website is www.bakzo.com Check it out and let me know if you have any suggestions, Thanks
What keywords are you targeting? It makes a huge difference. Suggest creating a keyword text heavy landing page for each product category. Your home page covers so many different watch products it is probably a little confusing to a bot.
In competetive marketes like ecommerce one of the biggest factors will be quality incomming links, so concentrate on those. Look at the sites that rank ahead of you and figure out what they are doing well and try and do the same type of things.
Figure out what your target keywords are and optimise these within your title tags, meta decsriptions and well written content articles on your site. Then start link building, using your keywords as the anchor link text.
In competitive SEO, you can not miss or not use any of the ON-Page SEO Elements. Where is the H1 tag, H2-4, etc. Look very close at the title tag on each page. The primary keyword should be left justified. And if you need to put the web site name in there, put it on the far right. Also, you should add more keyword based content text.
I would spell Jewelry properly in the title header. I would flip the title. Put your keywords in front of "Bakzo.com". So it would be something like "Jewelry and Watches Specialist - Bakzo.com". Fix your design. I'm using IE, as many others do to. I'm having some of your content pushed down below your left-side menu. Just look at it in IE, you should see the problem and it shouldn't be a huge problem to fix. ^ here is a few for you.
install a wordpress blog at http://www.bakzo.com/blog/ and update this daily on topics covering what you sell. posts should be short say 100 words and then you need to write pages, so 250 words. a post should have a link to page, and pages should have links to various product pages (do not overdo the number of links) submit articles to various article directories and get links to your blog pages. DEEP LINKING is vital. getting links to just your home page is not natural and may cause a penalty. also MIX UP your anchor text. example: watches, fancy watches, watches make a great gift, and even have links that do not contain your keywords/phrases. remember keep it all natural.
Well I can't say I agree with all of the comments above. In my opinion your on-page seo isn't perfect, but it should be good enough. Quality backlinks can usually overcome minor on-page issues. Before you do anything, I recommend you do extensive keyword research. You likely won't get any traffic for the phrases that your homepage targets. The keywords 'watches' and 'jewellery' are just too competitive. It would probably take at least a year or two to get on the first page for such keywords...and that's assuming you know what you're doing. You should be able to get rankings with some of your internal pages. The phrases that those pages target aren't as competitive. If it were me, I would focus mostly on those internal pages. Get links to your internal pages from multiple sources. Be sure to use good anchor text and mix it up so that you don't get too many links with the same anchor text.
build your backlinks from search engine friendly directories, social bookmarking sites... use the targeted keywords in your anchor text
the targeted keyword should be left align in the title not the domain name. Use targeted keywords in the breadcrum. Build quality links and use your targeted keyword. Analyze your competitors.
I would suggest u to spend some money on PPC campaign it will realy work and u will be in profit, or else traget some heavy and high relevancy keywords and work hard to generate traffic by ranking to those keywords. best of luck...
You can target best keywords, then promote your site use those keywords, and build quality back links.
If your site is a shopping site, the best way to get traffic is from Google Base. Try to generate a data feed and submit it to Google Base.
Dear seoservicesvs, It is a easier task. And for more information on Google base guidelines, it is better to visit direct Google at: http://base.google.com/support/?hl=en&gl=us And if you have any doubts, post here. Members can explain.
Well, you are going to rank well for Bakzo, but unless someone is searching for that, you're not in luck. Your second best bet is "jewelery and watch specialist", but I don't know if a lot of people search for that. Pick the keyword you want to rank for and put it in your title tags. Then link build, a lot. Keep in mind you are going up against big names like kay, zales, jc penny, younkers, etc... so you might need deep pockets to really rank where you want. Oh and it might take years. Good luck. P.S. Focus on the long tail individual products instead of your main page.
