For some of my websites, the traffic has come down to 20 - 25 % in december. Has any faced the same problem?.

    Of course, it's the holidays.

People are on vacation, spending time with their kids & family!

That's the magic ticket! You have to assume that the last half of December is a pretty big drop off, but don't worry, it will definitely pick back up within the next few weeks when everyone is back into the normal daily grind.

    Hang in there!

Business activity does slow down during holidays. Further, there is also a recession looming large at the same time.

Both the factors have played havoc on traffic and sales !:(

All my niches but one maintained or went up in traffic. One in a tech niche went down around 20% which was kind of crazy but a few days here and there had a lot of traffic. December is always a bad month for the internet unless you have a store online.

Depends on the site and what the content is. I had some sites go down and other go up a lot.

Agree what other members have said.. A site has less traffic for December since most people are busy spending time with their family.

Both Google and Yahoo have reported major drops in the Pay Per Click advertising and this will cause major traffic drops for sites that rely on it.

Add the layoffs that are taking place, less competitors checking out your site, and company budgets on hold, this has created a major decline in traffic world wide.

What we have seen is that our "real traffic" has dropped by 50% but spam/competitor traffic is now up as they try to figure out where their traffic went.

And the holidays will also reduce traffic some what.
