My blog's homepage isn't appearing in the serps for my chosen keyword... but my inner page is - could there be any reason for this? Help as I would like all the pages in my blog to rank!
If it's a new website, then the main domain will face a delaying penalty to rank well in Google called: Sandbox / Link Aging.. Work more on your website content and try to get backlinks from relevant websites with higher PR and just wait
How would that fix it? I want all my pages to rank on Google... heres an example: I want http://BadAssGamer.blogspot.com to rank and all my blog posts.
Believe me, you don't want categories to be listed, because it's showing exactly the same content as it does for single page. Your first priority must be home page, and single page. Here is an example of Wordpress sitemap: User-agent: * Disallow: /wp-content/ Disallow: /trackback/ Disallow: /wp-admin/ Disallow: /feed/ Disallow: /archives/ Disallow: /index.php Disallow: /*? Disallow: /*.php$ Disallow: /*.js$ Disallow: /*.inc$ Disallow: /*.css$ Disallow: */feed/ Disallow: */trackback/ Disallow: /page/ Disallow: /tag/ Disallow: /category/*/* Code (markup): Ps: I just noticed you are using Blogger. Don't worry about this, as Blogger uses it's own robots.txt which can't be edited.
You should focus on building more high quality backlinks this will make the search engines crawl your site more often and it will speed up the process.
