Hey guys, I'm not talking about outsourcing article writing or outsourcing just the ebook writing (give the person an outline). I'm talking about using just one or two people and outsourcing to them 90% of the work i.e. - the sales page website - the product Has anyone done this? I've dabbled in products and am getting better and will soon go on a big product creation binge (NC's 48 hour project has been some of the inspiration!). Sometimes I wonder what the point of outsourcing creation is when I am capable of churning out an ebook and sales page quite quickly. I personally think I can write an ebook of better quality than most people and although my copywriting is average I know that you have to pay thousands to get amazing copy so I don't expect more than average from your typical outsourcer. So far I've found a couple of recommendations: http://www.ebookscreated.com/services.html http://www.theproductmachine.com/ It basically costs around $1000 to outsource ebook+sales page. Any thoughts, anyone done it?
If you have the time and patience, I would recommend you do it all yourself. You already said you're an average copywriter and good ebook writer, so why would you want to outsource it?
I did, to an extend (hybrid). My product is an audio course, and I hired a meditation teacher to write the actual scripts, hired voice actresses to record, and rent a studio to remix the tracks myself. It is not cheap though. The great challenge of hiring third parties to do it is that you have to be very hands on in managing their work quality, not all outsourcers provide great quality work. You have to know where to find good outsourcers (I got them through referrals and trusted third parties)
Thanks, interesting guys. Yeah craze3, the reason I'm thinking about it is that it must work as a long term strategy. The owner of productmachine claims that he has 10 regulars who order one website a month from him at a cost of $1,500. That's $18,000 a year outlay. They must be making some serious $$$ from these sites it if they are willing to pay that much. I doubt that they would wait more than a year to break even either. And I have heard of others thinking about offering such a service for even more money, say $4,000 a site. When I have more money, I am extremely tempted to dabble in a couple of such sites.
I've always outsourced the design of my directories in the past. I've used 4 different designers now, all have produced great work. Prices ranged from $250-$1000. IMO it's the only way to do it. I'm sick of seeing publishers with crap graphics that they tried to make themselves. I even hired a 14 year old to design my www.f1zoom.com. He only charged $50 and did an amazing job as you will see if you check the site. Therefore you have no excuses
hell yeah outsource ftw. no need to try and do it all yourself when there are pro's out there that will do a much better job at it!
