    I think it depend the on quality and how relevant the backlink is, it is very difficult to determine...

    Unfortunately my blog didn't get PR, but two of my proxies got PR2 ;)

    Is it me or have Google been updating PageRank more often recently?

    it seems like the people that did a lot of SEO work in building links didn't get any increase in page rank, and the people that didnt do any link building got an increase. 5 pages on my website that all had high page rank links pointing to them stayed at pr 2. then i had one that was pr 0 that went to pr2 and i didnt even do anything to it. i don't know if its just me, but it seems pretty weird that this thread is full of people saying "I did no link building and i got an increase". i don't know if google is changing their algorithm or if its just me, but if SEO is really based on getting high quality backlinks pointing to your site, then it's not true for this update.

    You've probably had a PR 4 for a few weeks before the toolbar export. If there was any associated increase in traffic you've probably already seen it.
