I was just wondering something. If an order is refunded does that take away the gravity that may or may not have been gained by the product on the marketplace when the order was placed to begin with?
Gravity is gained when a new affiliate makes a sale i.e an affiliate that hasn't made a sale for the particular product before. It doesn't matter how much sales he has, if he makes one sale today, he will contribute for a rise of 1 gravity point tommorow. I think the gravity would be taken away if an affiliate has 1 sale, and that sale gets refunded , then, the 1 gravity he had is taken away. Because the affiliate has 0 net sales (1 sale - 1 refund = 0 sales) However, if he had more than 1 sale, and only one refund, it will not affect the gravity. Others, feel free to agree/disagree, this is just the way I think it works, from my understanding of CB gravity.
BTW, have you noticed how gravity of ALL top products has increased? Also look at the Clickbank index, it goes rapidly up... Maybe Clickbank finally decided to fix their "problems"...
Yes i think you are right and also maybe it's the new year....Funny enough...3 of my affiliates are getting sales in less than 10 clicks since yesterday. A few minutes ago one got a sale in just 4 hops...I don't know what clickbank did...But whatever it is I am loving it.
yep, you are right, if the affiliate generated only one sale and the sale get refunded, the gravity gained from him will be removed after the refund.
From the 2 comments above that says clickbank is working fine now, I hope its true. I will see how my sales are going to be.
It actually doesn't work this way in my experience. I've had an affiliate who made just one sale and then had that one sale refunded as a publisher and the refund didn't subtract the gravity added. That experience happened a few months ago, so unless they've changed things since then... I've been having better success over the past week or so. I'm trying not to get too overly excited about it. But... yes hopefully they have fixed the issues.
