There is no Heaven. There is no God. The sooner we, as humans, can get that nonsense out of our culture, the better.

Prove a negative? even you should know that is a logical impossibility. It's up to those asserting the positive to prove their position. Until that happens it perfectly reasonable to assume the negative is true.

So i put it to you, Prove it right now please:)

    Well said, StOx!

That's exactly what I was about to say. It's not me who is making a claim, so why should I have to prove anything?!

It is you who are saying that god is a negative . You say god doesnt exist. Just as you are asking people of religion to prove that he exists I am asking you to prove that he doesnt exist. We have a thing called faith and maybe one day science might be able to prove what faith is, they cant do it now. So I ask you again, show us your proof that god doesnt exist. You cant can you. This is the thing that gets any atheist to start thinking and I have allready shown my stats that people of religion far outnumber atheists and that number is only growing larger.

And as i said before, to call these people unintelligent is kind of hypocritical since most atheists believe that our universe came from random chance looooooooooooooooooool. Now thats what I would call intelligent reasoning.

Ill be right back folks, i got some ice cubes im gonna throw up in the air. By the time i come back they will form a fully functioning dolly parton (my dream girl) :D

Masterful, i have seen many atheists on this forum make the claim that god doesnt exists so that statement is a negative yellow alert ( Im a trekkie geek so sue me lol) and stox himself has claimed many times in many posts that god doesnt exist:)

You made the claim now prove it. You even go so far as to claim it as fact and not just your personal religious belief that religion in all forms is hollow and pointless.
Hell ya know what, just go find any self respecting scientist who is actually trying to prove God does or does not exist (either way) and I will give you some gray rep :D

Thank you. I will try to prove it indirectly. This universe couldnt have come about by random chance and therefore some intelligent force had to have a hand in it. By the way, master wasnt the first atheist that claimed god doesnt exist on dp. Stox has claimed it many times and those posts are here for all of us to see. I have made a claim and backed it up with some indirect evidence of some intelligent force. Their turn now:)

Isn't it just as possible that we, humans, impose design onto creation as we discover it. People seem to have this natural dualism to them. We see order and chaos everywhere. Good and evil, night and day. We impose it on everything in nature all the time in all sorts of ways. We even impose it on God sometimes. This dual nature that is more human perception than anything.

Earthfaze, maybe in the macro world we have before us it does seem like chaos but the more we focus in on the micro world we see order , structure and laws that keep this order and structure in place. When people in the dark ages saw the black death as something evil or some kind of demon we now see as an airborne desease.

Like i said, To assume a negative is true is perfectly reasonable until the positive is proven. Think Santa, fairies, elves, dragons and you might start to faintly grasp this simple concept.

Have we already come to the stage where your intellectual dishonesty forces you to make the same facile points even though they have already been address. You are asking people to prove a negative.

again, Think fairies, elves and dragons and answer these questions..
    1. Do you believe they exists?
    2. Can you prove that they don't exist

Faith is believing something for no good reason. It's a shameful and lazy way for the intellectually bankrupt to form conclusions.

No they don't. But well done on parroting that dishonest strawman just one more time. I guess when your answer is "magic man done it" it's easier to just lie, deceive and misrepresent than it is to defend such an infantile and preposterous explanation.

I don't recall claiming that but if i did I'd like to see where.

Like i said before intelligent designmakes even the staunchest atheist think twice. If they are men and women that believe in reasoning then you must think twice since it does give indirect evidence of creation through order , and when i say creation im talking about the creation of the universe. I really dont need to be dishonest in any way about this as it wouldnt serve any purpose.

As far as you saying that god doesnt exist i dont think we need to go through all 1 million posts to do that do we lol.

Be right back, the salt grains I threw in the air yesterday have come down and formed a fully functioning ballet dancer. Its amazing, I call her Mrs OFR (order from randomness):D.

SuviCyriacNadakuzhackal : Yes on both sides lol

intelligent design doesn't make anyone think twice because it's a baseless assumption. It comes from people who are happy with simple answers which are backed up by no evidence for complex questions.

It basically boils down to the scientific illiterate saying "i don;t understand how that happened, so magic man must have done it". It's childish and not an answer to anything.

could you answer my questions about fairies, elves and dragons please.

You seem to have misunderstood: You are asserting the existence of something. We are not. It is not an assertion that something doesn't exist (Not in this context). So you have to prove your assertion, while we have nothing to prove.

    previously addressed.

    I suppose I'll start with a definition:

"belief that is not based on proof".

Faith in something is caused by an alignment of neurons in the brain such that one thinks that a diety exists. More precisely, having been told something enough, one begins to believe it. I suppose you could say that anyone who isn't an atheist is suffering from hostage syndrome.

That is akin to me asking you to prove that there is no threven anywhere, with me defining a threven as a sphere, just like the empire state building.

Thinking what? This person is an idiot? In this case, I would have to agree that I thought that.

If you look at the no religion section, the total non religious people went up from 8.2% of americans in 1990 to 14.1% in 2001. That is an increase of 5.9%. Extrapolating, that implies that currently about 19-20% of americans are nonreligious.

You seem to be implying that it is unintelligent to think that the universe came from random chance. That implies that you think people such as Alexander Friedmann, Edwin Hubble, and even Steven Hawking are unintelligent. Surely you are mistaken?

Satire only works if you understand what you are satirizing. In this casy, you're just showing your ignorance. Had you said:

"I'll throw an oceansworth of water, hydrocarbons, ammonia, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, and hydrogen on a planet with excessive heat, a lot of UV, and violent lightning storms, and I'll come back in a billion years and maybe there will be self replicating compounds or unicellular life"

you would sound more intelligent. Unfortunately, that is not ridiculous.

Perhaps we make this claim because it's true?

one who can find happiness in himself automatically knows that there is god, You will find god in your core of happiness. One who is miserable never finds god, more miserable he is more he is away from god and most atheist deny God and one of the core reason they deny god is because they never felt real happiness, they may have their own logical conclusions though but thats all crap if you ask me. Real reason is they are miserable people. No person who is really blissful will deny god :D
