I'm attempting to have Google to generate sitelinks for my website, is there any to facilitate this? I know that it's an automated process (as stated in Webmaster Tools > Links > Sitelinks), but am wondering what exactly it is that Google needs to see during their crawl process in order to generate it. Thanks in advance for any assistance offered.
got me. main thing to get them is age of site (could be 6 months or a year) and static internal links (such as a menu).
Ok, thanks. My site is much newer than that. I have clear menus on my site, I hope the crawlers will pick it up and turn some into sitelinks.
Well i have got a lot of sites which have got site-links now. At first i didnt seem to understand it. But after doing a comparison and trying to make out something similar in all those sites i found a very important thing which is when you are building backlinks you need to focus on not only the homepage but also inner pages and other sections of the site. If google finds links pointing to inner pages of your site then it wuld increase the chances of getting site-links. This is as far as my study goes.. Others might have to say something about it as well..
Makes a lot of sense, I'll keep that in mind though I'm not so active in creating backlinks so it'll take me some time. Thanks for the suggestion.
Age has nothing to do with it, i've gotten full 8 sitelinks 1 month after registering a brand new domain. But yes, internal links is a really big factor along with good navigation and a domain name that matches the search phrase you are wanting sitelinks for.
Sorry to open an older thread but very interested to find out if anyone has any experience with Wordpress sites and getting sitelinks for them..
Yes, i have gotten full 8 sitelinks on a Wordpress site 30 days after i regged the domain. The CMS has really no bearing on it, because i have Wordpress with the exact same theme on another site that's got the same PR (6) and more backlinks plus much older but it doesn't have sitelinks.
