My website is yousellstuff.com and i have had it now for about 7 months maybe a little longer. The website site has tons of backlinks with some of them having pr up to 5. Here are the stats. Total Backlinks 2255 Google 192 MSN 334 Yahoo! 0 Why is it still pr 0? Its not banned and i just don't know what else to do. Please help Thanks
Do not worry! you are not alone. It doesn't matter how many backlinks you have, the matter is how many quality and relavent backlink you have.
You don't have 192 Google backlinks with up to PR5. A search for link:yousellstuff.com reveals only 14 links. The top links are from this forum, the rest are from PR0.
i am so confused, here are two different sites with index stats. Every single tool says that there are more. Why is this happening
Not really sure how your stats tools are getting those numbers. Again, you can see the links that Google see's by using the link: function.
Dude ... You can argue with the stats all you want, the fact is if you check it for yourself Google only returns 14 links for your site.
I think you should at least have a PR1, maybe you could add some articles, product reviews etc. (unique content).
Sorry but you are wrong, he got thousands of backlinks the thing is google doesn't show all the backlinks using "link:", you can search for backlinks using yahoo.com they will list all of them. about the topic, very weird looks like you really got good backlinks pointing your way with high pr you should've AT LEAST got a PR2-PR3 ranking never saw such a thing before.
link: search only show some of the backlink. Use google webmaster tools to see all the backlink indexed by google. or just use yahoo site explorer.. yousellstuff1, see here: https://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/search?p=http://www.yousellstuff.com/&bwm=i&bwmo=d&bwmf=u you have 2469 backlinks. 2 main backlinks to your site, one (directory) is pr0 and another one is pr3 .. and you don't have pr5 backlink. the pr3 backlink should give you at least pr1... But, it didn't. Maybe because you just get that backlink recently or it not listed in google webmaster tools. but, pr is not so important (at least), all you need to care is your website content and traffic.
You should have reasonable number of quality backlinks for making your site rank higher in google. Go for quality not quantity!

Total backlinks: 71 Total unique anchor texts: 18
You should continue to build backlinks and your pr will eventually increase, I do not think you did anything wrong, but you need to be patient with this.
There is a problem with this site, that all 2000+ links pointing to home of site, if any body know something about google then u also know that google dislike the tons of links to single page, and it cosiderd as spam, it seems like auto links etc. If u wana page rank, then i sugest that to drop of 1800 links pointing to home page and divid them to sub pages, its up to u how u can do this. Good luck.
Don't worry about Pagerank. Worry about getting your site to appear in SERPs and acquiring traffic. 1) With this update Google has proven what most SEOs have been talking about for months - Google HATES directories. Links from spammy manual and paid submission directories are worthless. Stop doing it. 2) Forum signature and social bookmarking links are just about as worthless as directories when it comes to building pagerank. They have some use for keyword links, but not for pagerank. 3) Don't just build a whole bunch of links to your homepage, build deeplinks to individual pages on your site. PageRank isn't important - but having all the pages on your site rank well in the SERPs is. This is where links from social bookmarking sites, forums, etc. can be useful. All my sites are now PR4, 5, and 6, nothing lower than 4. Thanks Google
It's not just the backlinks that count over here. Obviously the of posts and threads over at the forum are still very less.
Seems most of the member are receiveing bad new during the latest PR update. one of my blog drop from PR5 to PR3 too. I think keep on improving on the content and building quality link is still necessry. Monitor and see what will happen next
Are you sure that those back links are all dofollow? If it is not then better look for dofollow blogs and forums and participate even more.
I have checked, max 50 of them are no follow, but none of the high pr pages or no follow Thanks for all of this info. This just helps me prove my point that google sucks
