I thought about it but there's just too many

Where will you get the info from thats unique? Engadget, Gizmodo, and all those have many people employed and they actually attend all the huge tech conferences and everything. A lot of their pictures are taken themselves. You cant compete with that being one person and without having the money.

I think BncApps said very well, its just too difficult to compete those Websites which are very famous. So it would be better to concentrate on that segment which has low ratio for competition and you can rank well, and build some nice traffic for earnings.

Yeah its a good idea coz technology is changing everyday and so you can have never ending story to write.
For example write the review of the product etc.Sometime, you will find that the product company will pay you let say $300 to write a good review about their product.Don't worry about ads company, adsense will do

There are just so many technology blogs on the Internet. New ones come everyday.
The whole market has become saturated.

You can start blogging in this niche, but it will take lots of time and patience to see success.

You'll need to hire experienced people, for different tasks.

The only way to do well is quality.
As everyone has said there are just too many similar blogs so you have to offer something that they do not.
Normally I will always go to somewhere like engadget.com because they have the news first, people actually go to them now instead of them going to people, and your not going to get that untill you get big.
The content is great, always been updated and normally interesting.
Another thing is work on getting visitors, then revenue. Other wise its going to stand out your just in it for the money!
Its going to be hard to compete.
    All the best, Tom

I think it would work. Technology is constantly being updated and if you can write articles and stay up to date with it why not? However, if you plan on doing a review blog as well, your going to need some cash to review technology.
