What are the current thoughts behind keyword density and Google SEO? I know there have always been acceptable density percentages for Title, Description, Bold, H1 etc, but I haven't seen the current "rules" per Google lately. I'm going back through some sites & pages and want to make sure they're within acceptable keyword density guidelines.
I try not to use the exact keyword phrase I'm trying to target more than 5 times throughout my content and only once in my title, description, h1, etc. You can bold your keyword phrase at least once and maybe twice. At the same time I try to use the keywords in the keyword phrase I'm trying to target throughout my content. I've written a couple short articles on keyword density and keyword phrases. Keyword Density Keyword Phrases Hope this helps!
I am not sure what exact keyword density should be on your website, but I use this free keyword density checker to optimize my websites for right amount of keywords.
If you don't know what the density percentages should be, how can you optimize your sites for it? I already have kw density tools, I'm looking for some idea of appropriate density percentages.
Most search engine experts now agree that having "optimal" keyword density is no longer important, many don't even believe it's part of the equation anymore. The title tag is just as vital and important as it ever was. However, the H1 and H2 tags have also lost some of it's importance. Remember, as soon as search marketers understand and abuse a principle, Google sets out to change it as quickly as they can.
You are totally wasting your time. Put your effort into anchor text in a wide diversity of incoming links sources. Micromanaging onsite SEO is a waste of time.
Most of the top SEO experts say that on-page keyword density doesn't matter. Prominence matters a little, like titles and headers, but anchor text in the inbound links is where keywords count.
Just don't over do it and you will be fine. What I would recommend if you really want to know is to find a free "word cloud generator". Basically, this is just how that piece of software views your website. The word cloud generators normally put the most related keywords in bigger and bolder letters. You know that if your keywords aren't nearly the biggest then your keyword density could be better. There is no set percentage that will work though. Just put it in where it makes sense.
