What CTR is normal?

It is a fairly new site, average page impression around 150, click through 1%?? Is that normal?
How can I increase the CTR? can some expert have a look for me?

I'd say that is normal, I usually have around 1,5% CTR.
The only way to increase CTR is to make the ads more noticeable or trick people to click on them (the later is not recommended).

The ads on the side aren't very noticeable. Try to move them into the center, integrate them inside the main content.

Sounds a little low to me. In my opinion normal would be in the 3-6% range

For me normal is 7-9 %
1 % sounds very low unless gaming site or forum.

there's no such thing like a normal ctr, but there're always lots of things you can do to increase it. Basicly the higher the better :)

I think it is too less, 150 impression and just one percentage of click through, maybe you should try changing pos of ads.

CTR varies enormously depending on the type of site. If a site is a really good site for the user with lots of info they actually want to see and use then the CTR is often quite low at around 0.5 - 1%.

On the other hand we have seen CTR hitting 10% and higher on very spammy sites where there is nothing for the user to do other than click ads.

The first type of site will have a lot more repeat traffic, the latter will rarely see any return traffic.

I am currently trying to improve my CTR for www.placesun.co.uk by trying different ad formats and page postionings. Maybe you could do the same to increase the amount of clicks you are getting?

I have changed the ad position and format, it seems goes up a bit, but my traffic drops.
I subscribe a few websites, why google still show no links to my site, do I have to wait for next update or something?

Comparing your CTR to other peoples' is pointless. Ask yourself if there is anything you can do to make your ads better. Can the colors blend more, or match your site in a better way? Are your ads positioned as well as they could be? Those are the questions that you should be asking yourself, because that could be a reason to increase your CTR. Since your site is new, you should be less worried with your CTR, and more worried with getting more and more unique visitors to your site every single day. If you do that, then you'll get more clicks and your CTR will increase.
