    I had heard that MS were talking about Subscription Based licenses. If this sort of thing came in to play, I would definitely convert to a fully time Linux user.

    I very much doubt they'll ever introduce any sort of mainstream subscription charge because it would effectively kill their business. I'm sure this was probably meant to target some small niche and it got blown out of all proportion by the editor. Either that or they just wanted to grab an extra patent before anyone else did.

    They can give you the PC free and collect monthly fees in return. Or perhaps can be used for an online Office with online storage.
    But no way they'll be doing it on my own PC.
