My guess is that you can read a lot of the threads in these forums and gain much more knowledge than from reading these books.

if you are going to be reading abook about internet marketing I think reading off of a screen shouldn't be a problem for you, how will you work on the web.

But i agree that most of this info can be found from various forums and other online sources for nothing. Read some articles and pick away at what is already given to us all free on the web, with just a little persistance and time on google or yahoo.

I've done all of this for free and learned it from DP forums.

    Waste of money? Yes.

Here is what you do... go to some big book store that has seats where you can sit and read the books. Skim through the books and pay attention to the chapter titles and check the chapter summaries ... see anything that is new or a revelation to you? If so, buy the books... if not then don't bother (keep reading the threads here).

I have got the second one - SEO for dummies.

It has nothing new and DP does offer much more than it.

However if you are beginner and have no prior knowledge of SEO, I would suggest you buy the book. It is well organised, well written and ideal for a novice. It costs 16$ and I think it is definitely worth it.

Better get someone to coach you, you will learn more from it and will most likely to take action. This will also save you money and time from jumping from one book to another.
