But by that same logic, it would apply to other kinds of ideas as well.

In other words, by that logic, if someone hired me as a marketing consultant, and I helped them implement marketing strategies that led to ther company making an extra 2 million dollars in revenue...they'd have to pay me 2 million dollars.

For that matter, if you hired me to write articles so you could submit them to article directories and over the course of it's lifespan, that article makes you $800, then you'd have to pay me that much for the article.

Not that I have a problem with getting 2 million dollar consulting gigs or making $800 to write an article.:)

But I think it's a little extreme to say that if a marketer is selling a product that's supposed to show someone how to make a lot of money for an affordable price, that the marketer is full of crap.

I do understand where you're coming from though. You're saying that if the product has such earning potential, then why would you sell it for such a low price?

Keeping in mind that we've established that there definitely ARE some people out there are peddling crap and their income claims are most likely bogus, why would a person who actually IS making a lot of money sell their methods as a low-cost e-book? Simple:

Because they can make more money by selling their methods than they could by keeping them to themselves.

If I have a specific strategy for making money online, and it's very successful for me, and selling my strategy to other people isn't going to have a big impact on my sales, but selling the strategy could MAKE me a few hundred grand or more, then I'd have no reason to keep it to myself. It would actually be more profitable to sell it.

Now on the other hand, if selling my secrets would put me out of business, then I'd be smart to hold on to them.

    Thoughts?

That seems a bit familiar; however, your assumptions in the first paragraph don't apply to me whatsoever. It's actually pretty hard to just honest and up front around here - the whole attitude in general is pretty negative in general.

I can't say that I don't see the reasoning behind that thinking though... it's just disappointing I suppose

Well from personal experience my uncle is a multi-millionaire owning several ranches and estate in mexico and he still shops at the clearance aisle. Now I know for sure that people online who throw everyone their epeen but they can't actually back that up.

I think the real rich people keep it to themselves and for the record chappelle canceled the contract and left to africa under insanity.

About four years ago I read a financial book who's name escapes me at the moment.
Believe it or not, the most commonly owned car amongst millionaire's is a Ford F-150.

    Off topic eh?

I believe claims that seem reasonable enough. Those who say they make millions are most likely bragging something they don't really have

Yeah, most of them own 2 or 3 of them:

    1. One for their 24/7 landscaper

    2. One for their butler so he can run errands.

    3. One for their teenage son who crashed the Bentley.

On a side note, I use to work at a hospital where the Dr's drove crappy old cars just to compete who could have the worst car in their private parking lot. The parking lot looked like a junk yard.

I think there are some people who lie about how much money they make but I
also think there are people who are have been honest, for ex. the guy who
developed plentyoffish.com stated in a web forum that he makes over 10,000
a day from adsense, everyone accused him of lying, then he posted a picture
of his last check from google.

I guess some people really feel proud of themselves and want to share their accomplishments. To some people $1,000 a month might be enough to make them feel "rich", while others would need at least $20,000. For the most part though, I don't believe most of the Internet "gurus" who brag about being "rich".

I think most of them are full of crap. They certainly do make money, but not as much as they say they do. :) At least most of them. Most people look at shoemoney as a top guru. He is pretty good, but by looking at his photoalbum and photoshopped image of him holding a big check from azoogle makes me think that he is pretty much a show. He could at least add a shadow to the image to make it look more real. :)

The real question is whether you are happy with your lot.

Comparing today, tomorrow, xy country and yz country is simply not possible.

I've had the pleasure of working with some of the finest people on the planet and developing revenues (bricks and mortar) to multiple blocks of $10m - the absolute number is not important. I've lost as much in a space of 3 months by simply believing that things will continue as they always have.

Fast forward a bit to online. I've personally invested more than $1m in "hope" money. What is "hope" money? Good question. It is money that you feel will actually produce a dividend, but if it doesn't you will quickly write it off.

Why bother to say any of this, and why bother to attract the attention of people who I care not to speak with? Very simple. I read a post last night (here at DP) about a person who wanted to give the internet their best shot. Gave up their day job to make a fair living online........

I was happy in anonymity and frankly will go back there just as quickly, but let me say this with as much blandness and frankness as possible: Making money is not as important as making the right decisions. We can not always be right, we can not always be perfect, but we can act in a way that set us up for success as much as we can act in a way that sets us up for failure.

What does this mean (offline or online)? Simple: Solve a problem, deliver the solution better than anyone else, monitor the results and tweak you actions according to what you find.

You know, I've read about as much BS as I can take on the subject of money, and wealth. It is totally irrelevant and full of absolute crap, written by people who should know better.

If I never post another word let this last statement be in your "tool kit."

Worthy people will attract worthwhile dollars. Unworthy people will only inflate their ego.

To all and everyone - a happy new year, a long life, and a stupendous journey.

    Kind regards

    Busynic

I too will have to say that most of them are full of it.

Sometimes people brag and try to sell their product while not putting enough thought and logic behind it.
I never understand how anyone who is sane would go out and sell his brilliant guide to making gazillions to other people for just XX$!

I say, if you are making so much money, either you are stupid to give out your secrets and saturate your market, or you are full of it.
