I seem to have gained an infraction penalty. I am new to DP and not sure which post caused me this penalty.

My last post is located here:

I am unclear why I have received this penalty.

Not too sure what was wrong with that, you sure that is the post?
You didn't by any chance include a link and have it edited out did you?

If you think it was incorrectly given contact a moderator

That'll teach you not to be so helpful next time.

Seriously though, make sure it's not red rep instead of an infraction.
Above it does it say "Latest Infractions Received" or "Latest Reputation Received". If it's reputation it's just something you have to get used to.

Man..no disrespect to the DP Mods but I get also get random infractions for random reasons..

Especially over at BST where OPs go "post here, DON'T PM"! so I post there, and get infracted, when I have replied to the topic and with interest... just as long as they don't accumulate don't worry about it..

Damn, you right on the money there.

I'm not even sure where to start.

First, questions about the forum go here: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/forumdisplay.php?f=3 Not in General Chat

Second, starting a thread to complain about your infractions is a good way to get more infractions: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=216611

Third: When infractions are given, it automatically generates an email that contains a detailed explanation of the infraction. If you need further clarification you can contact one of the moderators via PM. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showgroups.php

It's pretty clear right here: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/announcement.php?f=24 Even if someone tells you to break the rules, you are still not allowed to break the rules. I am not sure why you think that is random.

Take some time and actually read the rules, and the sticky threads in all the forums (especially the B/S/T ones). Then if you still have questions you may contact a mod for further explanation. ;)

Just to add, if someone ask you to put on a red underwear on the outside and tell you that you can fly. Asking you to go 100 storey building and jump/fly from there, will you do it?

Isn't it common sense that if the OP's instruction is contradictory to the rules, you shouldn't be following! Contact any of the mods or report the thread.

This is not a school environment where the OP is a teacher and you are obedient students. This is the Internet, every Tom Dick and Harry visit our forums!.

And btw, your infraction was a profile infraction, meaning it wasn't tied to a specific thread. That's b/c the moderator chose to be kind and only give you one, even though you had multiple offending posts. For example "count me in" types of posts are against the rules (and you can get a 7 day ban for that, as it's the equivalent of an "I'm interested" post), and posting to say things like "some good stuff here" is considered padding your post count as it adds no value to the thread.
