Hi all! I want to select a niche for my theme. But I am confused as how to select the niche keyword ..whether depending on the overture count or searches OR depending on its competetion. A keyword has 328000 search count and has competetion of over 6257000 competetion. In this case, what to consider... Please let me know Thanks in advance.
checkout nichebot.com and choose niche that you like ..it is hard to write stuff that you are not interested
Hi, yes i will check nichebot.com and what is it "hard to write stuff that is not interested" Thanks.
I am new to nichebot.com. What exactly does the 'count' column represent? What does it mean by 'how many times the phrase appeared in the keyword discovery database in 12 months'?
Thats right. that's why i've never made much money as a webmaster, cuz i wrote of things that didn't interest me. Now i've found out that what does interest me, is niche....*my little secret*
Thanks for that URL...There is one thing I did notice about that site however. "Count -- Number of times search phrase appeared in the database of Keyword Discovery in the past 12 months." Count shows me a little over 1.6 million...however using DP's keyword tracker and overture shows...a little over 40k a day (WordTracker) and 44k a day for Overture...So it's not really reliable in that aspect...But is is a very handy tool, so thanks!
When considering search count and competition, I always choose low search count/low competition over high search count/high competition. You may not get a lot of traffic, but you'll probably get more than you will by competing against six million other sites. Once you're established in the SERPs and have developed some authority, you can always take a shot at more competitive keywords. HTH, Sam
When starting out for optimizing one page for one keyword phrase how many searches is your minimum? I have a keyword phrase that has .15 competition and wordtracker says 79 searches a day and overture says 12.9 do you think this is to little?
Well with that few searches...wow that's going to be difficult. Use the Yahoo Inventory tool and see how much (on average) those are PPC wise. If it's like 5 cents it's not really...worth it. But if you make it, people will come I suppose.
this is not for the domain this is for each page. so if i had 100 pages and 12 people came for each page that would be 1200 people ( i know im being way to optimistic) how many searches is it worth while to try for?
Hi Vewgle, Those are really good questions. For the first, I'd have to say it depends on the circumstances of each site/set of keywords, and each is different. I usually use the number of competitors as a guide. I start with keywords with less than 100 competing sites, and if I end up with enough keywords to start a site, I go with that. If not, I increase it to 1000 competing sites, etc., until I come up with a solid list. I rarely go above 100,000 competing sites when I'm first starting out. As to your second question, I know that 79 searches a day doesn't sound like a lot, but it can add up quickly. I'd say it's a number worth pursuing, provided there's not too much competition. Again, gaining a significant percentage of 79 searches adds up to a lot more than 0% of 10 million searches. HTH, Sam
Thanks WebFreedom, Just what I was looking for (guidance that is). I have a site that gets 800 uniqes a day but doesnt convert well. I'm starting another site. So thank you WEBFREEDOM!!!
I will check with www.nichewatch.com to find out how much difficulty i would face to beat top sites for particular keyword.
Actually nichewatch is better than nichebot. nichebot only tell you how many player are in the game, nichewatch tell you how good the top player is.
It is very less useful to know how many contenders are in the ground. More useful information is to know how well they are equipped to fight.
