Microsoft wants you to pay by how much you use Windows: Five Reasons Microsoft Wants To Do This 1. The Road Has Run Out On Microsoft's Traditional Software Licensing Business Model. 2. The Pay As You Go Model Makes Microsoft The Sole Toll Taker. 3. Microsoft Wants Your Credit Card. 4. Google Is Eating Microsoft's Breakfast, Lunch And Dinner. 5. Microsoft Wants To Control The Horizontal And Vertical Of Your Internet Experience.
I had heard that MS were talking about Subscription Based licenses. If this sort of thing came in to play, I would definitely convert to a fully time Linux user.
So there going to charge you for how much you use it? If this is true then i will be running to my px with linux
Wow, this is the kind of thing that will drive me away from their operating systems if they actually implement it. Time to look more seriously into Mac...
Is this really true and is Microsoft really planning to implement this crap method of collecting revenue? How much more wealth does Bill Gates need? Doesn't he already have enough, to feed his generations to come?? Regards, RightMan
I very much doubt they'll ever introduce any sort of mainstream subscription charge because it would effectively kill their business. I'm sure this was probably meant to target some small niche and it got blown out of all proportion by the editor. Either that or they just wanted to grab an extra patent before anyone else did.
Pathetic, stupid, retarded and useless. Microsoft is messing their customers around so much that it's not even funny.
they sound like a desperate mother for control over their kids. 1 word that'll kill microsoft "Linux"
agree. And for the one saying bill gates didnt need anymore. Bill gates doesnt own ms anymore, so its not his fault.
They can give you the PC free and collect monthly fees in return. Or perhaps can be used for an online Office with online storage. But no way they'll be doing it on my own PC.
2 options for me: A someone cracks the subscription thingy and i can keep on using windows for free B i get a mac
I converted to Ubuntu earlier this year, though I still need windows for gaming. Let this happen, and this will the beginning of their end. >|
