Israel & Palestinian diplomacy

I think the best way to identify who the "worse" side is, is by identifying which one has rejected diplomacy and peace talks. Whoever is hell-bent on making this a violent conflict is clearly at fault right now.

I have no initial knowledge of this, so maybe someone can teach me about this matter?

Actually Nate both sides have rejected diplomacy before, but there was one time. One potentially shining moment in time when the great Yitzak Rabin really had the will and authority to make a breakthrough with the palestinian people. We all know what happened to him. I guess every country has its own lee harvey oswald;)

Then both sides are at fault, I condemn both of them. How could neither side take the high-ground after all these years?

well not sure where to start...
Palestinian diplomacy spoke to the world and to UN, UN made many resolutions concerning the occupied lands in Palestine, none has been implemented, the violation came since the very first UN resolutions concerning the conflict, when Zionists gangs allocated more lands than what they been "given"

about 35 years ago in his speech to UN Arafat said:

there was no Hamas or Hezballah then, and of course the olive branch has fallen, their excuse then was, there is no partner for peace, and when Arafat and Rabin became partners for peace, Rabin been assassinated by the peace-hating Israel, and more they threatened to kill Arafat:

Israel and Palestine : The real obstacle to peace is Sharon, not Arafat

Sheik Ahmed Yassin the founder of Hamas accepted a Palestinian state within 1967 borders, the reply from Israel was to air-strike him while he was out from dawn prayer at mosque.

Arabs had an initiative for peace, mainly the Saudi initiative, which been refused by Israel.

a person would question after this refusal, what is their definition for peace?

this articles by Israelis who are sick of their different Governments refusal for peace, will give more idea:

    Israel doesn't want peace

That's ironic, when I think about the Palestinians and their efforts at diplomacy 35 years ago, I think of the 1972 Munich Olympics where Palestinian terrorists massacred innocent Israeli athletes. That, in my mind, sums up much of the Palestinian efforts at diplomacy.

The Munich operation was ordered by Yasser Arafat and carried out by Fatah, Arafat's faction of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO).

despite this is not about this thread topic, and despite the operation happened in 1972, and this speech was on 1974, I will still reply you, and educate you more as I been doing since long,

    source

but why they wanted their own citizens dead? the answer can be read in the events that followed,

so many Palestinians have been assassinated in reply for this operation, novelists, artists, writers, politicians........ of whom some have nothing to do with this operation ;)

Yes, please tell me how even the Jews killed by the PLO are Israel's fault. Please tell me how Hamas is Israel's fault. I would expect nothing less. I would never expect you to ever condemn the murder of Jews unless it served some ulterior motive.

My point was simple. One cannot point to an isolated speech in 1974 without looking at what the speech maker was doing at that same time in history.

Blaming anyone and everyone but the terrorist. It is pretty interesting, but not surprising.

the terrorist in this case is the one who committed the killing, which is obvious as this Israeli official says (hint: Israel) and the one who committed even more killing after it, without distinguishing between the ones who were involved, and the ones who had nothing to do with it.

To anonymous repper.. Why not give your philosophical advice/insult on this thread?

Violence hasn't helped the Palestinian cause.

That is a very bad logic which I can't agree with.

I would say that the worst side is the side who causes more destruction.

It is pretty obvious that the Israeli assault in Gaza the last two days is way overrated, even to what Hamas done in the previous years.

Israel is trying to take the easy way out to eliminate Hamas, even if it means killing more innocent Palestinans, as long as their death count stays low. The Israeli government has the means to eliminate Hamas members using soldiers, but this means bad negativity on their side.

    Peace,

This is pure propaganda. The terrorists killed several hostages on purpose and the others(including one of the snipers) that may have been killed inadvertently were killed because of the chaotic and violent situation that the terrorists caused. The conflict in the middle east has been perpetuated exactly because of people like you who will make excuses for the terrorists and blame the other side no matter what the facts are.

ncz_nate, I appreciate your attempt to look at the facts but the truth is that we will never be able to have an honest "fact-finding" thread about this topic as long as people like imad are around to come in and muck things up.

I find myself again having to ask, did you read that article? it was not an article "written by imad" it was not an analysis by somebody, it was real info that been revealed, if you are in doubt, you have the right, but in this case, you need to go, and check its validity from reliable sources then come and speak, before you jump to conclusions.

Here's an excerpt from wikipedia which in this case is probably less biased and less based on anti-jew conspiracy theory.

Do you expect activists to be fair and balanced? The reason we have so much propaganda in this forum is because of internet activists like you. Why is it wrong to post from activist sources in a thread that's supposed to be about finding facts in a fair and balanced way? Because activist sources are almost by definition biased and have pre-skewed their information one way or the other. I could probably go find a pro-israeli activist source to counter your posts but then this thread would just end up in the same garbled crap stew as the other threads on related topics.

According to some(I assume you are one) the jews(codeword zionists) used the nazis to carry out the jewish holocaust, so you should ask yourself the same question.

Yikes, has anyone seen the images in Miami? Big protest going on there and people are holding up signs stating the U.S. is paying for the "Palestinian Holocaust". Jeepers....
