Why receive an infraction for posting?

    Hi

    Can someone tell me why can someone receive an infraction of 10 points just for posting comments like 'have sent you a PM' or 'PM sent, Please check' or 'Please check the PM'?

    Is it possible for other members to report infractions apart from the moderators??

    Could you also tell me if it is alright to send a PM without posting in that particular thread. Do we still get infraction for that?? do OPs complain for that too ?

    It's okay to send a PM if you don't post in the thread. It's actually what you're supposed to do.

    Yes and if the OP's complain the mods would probably tell them to get lost, as tr1x said it's what your supposed to do. If they ask you in the thread to post in the thread that your interested then they are in the firing line for a 7 day ban.

    Reason being there is far too much of those PM send etc spams in the forum. Repeatedly warnings was not heeded, we need something stronger to deter spammers. The 7 day 10 points is actually quite light compared to infraction point which can last for months. My advice here, if you need to PM the OP, do PM him, you do not need to announce to the world. Also for the OP to PM interested members, just go ahead, do not need to post as no one will care except the person receiving the PMs.
