Well I'm sure people know sites I don't so yes, a straw poll. But if anyone wants to take it further that's fine. Of those mentioned so far Romow and Dirjournal I'd say are great directories and Lobolinks is strong and promising. Enquira I'd never heard of but is an excellent example with topical and regional categories most of which are populated. Dirbuzz and previously unmentioned Devwebdirectory look good, great designs etc. but let down (imho) by lack of content. robjones said something about being a traditionalist and if I understand him I concur that the best a directory can offer is well-edited links to sites which offer unique content in relevant categories.
i would suggest to say about directories that was launced in 2008.But if i have to choose from the established web directories i would choose dirjournal.
I like Joeant because I have my own Anthill there. A good place to learn about directory editing and help populate a great directory.
I noticed you had the Skaffe Directory in your siggy, thats another good one. so many great directories I cant pick one but Joe Ant is on the top of the list with a few others
Joe Ant and skaffe are also very good - but certainly no new. I think the original idea of the persons thread was to name a really good new directory?
And to the coward who red-repped me on Dec 30th 2008 8:09 pm, stating "you were paid to say that", the answer is NO, I wasn't. I don't even know the owners of the directories I recommended.
The reasons are 1) The links listed there are high quality? 2) No deadlinks/broken links? 3) Fastest approval among all the directories? 4) Most honest editors? 5 and on and on..
