If LaCabra seen the page this guy is the real deal. A nice general overview of how you accomplished what you did is what I am thinking most people want to hear. Revenue? How much do you think you made? Do you think you will be able to keep it? etc In any case it was an impressive accomplishment.
Oh, cmon, Fryman. Someone asked him to put a page up on t1ps2see.com and within 2 minutes it said "Hello DP" ... it is him. Welcome to Digital Point!
Wake up Fryman and if you don't believe verify it with the alexa rank on my screen capture .... wakey wakey! Its him!! Hats off ...
Yeah, I missed the
Hello DP and World!
part in your previous post. I must say I am surprised this guy is here... why? Why not a BH forum?
Yes, but what he is doing not necessarily ILLEGAL, but it is UNETHICAL. I'm not sure if the TOS' will allow it either. If he has all this time, he really could probably make a killer site with great content that would earn far more money. It only takes a little effort and determination to make millions on the internet without breaking ethical standards.
You must have some balls dude, i'd be shitting myself. Unless of i made loads of money, in which case i'd be very depressed at the damage to other peoples sites/blogs and pissing off alot of people. Then i'd donate all the revenue to the webmasters of DP.
If nothing else, what francox1 did was pretty hilarious - gotta wonder what the GooglePlex dudes/dudettes were saying when they noticed this - oh shh**tt! ;-) Plus I respect a good "hack" (which was pretty darn ballsey) ... and I mean that in the old-style version of that word. I do wonder if it "spiraled" outa control on 'ya - i.e. did you mean for billions of results to pop up in the results? BTW, was anybody tracking number of results for stuff like "a" or "the" to see how many billions it bumped up in the last several weeks? Current results are showing 21/22 Billion ... I remember the numbers on Saturday being 23/25 Billion ... so (assuming not data center flux), maybe dropping as the results are hand-jobb'ed outa the index (?) On the off-chance you are looking to donate to charity, I'll toss my favorite one out there which is the University of Maryland Center for Celiac Research.
I gotta agree. While I do not agree with the way it was done, you gotta admit it was clever and industrious. Only 10K pages? Being modest? What do you think about having "celebrity status" on the blogs and forums? When did you see the "chink in the Big Daddy armour"? How long did you expect to see the site live? Did you do it to prove a point? Just because you could? Or for the money? Now what? Dave
Your applauding someone whose trying to destory the index. Google is my employer, think im enjoy that?
With all due respect, you're way off base. It was Google who indexed and ranked the pages not the person who created them. If anything, this person did all of us a favor by exploiting a problem Google should have been aware of. This is not a new problem. Just the first time it received so much attention. Now it's up to them to fix this latest problem with Big Daddy. Dave
There are other ways to reveal an exploit instead of explointing cause lets face it, thats what was done.
Huntz chill out he is just spamming a search engine hes not a murderer its not the end of the world and how does this affect you and your income? Unless you have sites which youve lost rankings to due to him. I wonder if google care for you as much as you do them. Err i think most exploits are found from being exploited....
I am of the school of thought that says google are lazy and not doing what we ask but i still can't defend what he done. And also there are terms that im competing against spammers with. Anyone agree here what he done is wrong i mean come on.
Name 1 way that would have gotten this much attention. Secondly, I rather doubt the person was interested in "revealing" what the problem was. They're welcome to correct me if I'm wrong. Dave
