    Hey,

Its been a couple of years now and i been trying to open a drop shipping business. The only problem is i dont have any supplier. I heard of Doba but there products are very limited and most of them are not in demand. Is there any one out there that has had any success in this type of business and what are some good suppliers ??

    Thanks

Im more focus on the USA. Asia would mean expensive shipping cost.

I'm also interested in finding out more info on this. You can do a search for whatever product your trying to get a supplier for followed by "Drop shipper" or "Supplier". For my product it just resulted in a bunch of asian websites for which there was no English.

I think many drop shippers are from Asia. You'll get a cheaper price on the product, but you'll have to pay more for shipping and it'll most likely be much harder to get support.

My directory has USA shippers in there as well - Its a global directory.

Shipping costs from asia are usually negated by the fact that the product is SO much cheaper

some dropshippers are a nightmare for support - but I have found some to be excellent. Once you have found one you can work well with you can have a long profitable relationship with that supplier......like I have with mine :D

I've started to see some success using this dropshipping company, I'm still in the early stages but I can see it'll be worth my time.

Agreed, doba the product offered by them is not too many and its price is a bit pricey than normal.
I suggest you use dhgate coz they offer a lot of variety of product from health to computer component.

I'm thinking with the economy going south for an extended period that it's going to be difficult to get any sales. Everyone is shopping Amazon.

if i were you, don't rely on dropshipping companies if you're serious at doing business and make money. dropshipping prices are nowhere near wholesale prices so i can say your profit margin is close to nothing. unless you push for volume. i have lots of experience for years with all this as they all used to be my clients including Doba. they are good people and reputable companies, don't get me wrong, but you will not be competitive when offering your products for resale anymore. might as well look for wholesalers on a particular niche that do not require any minimum and are open to public. what you want to look for are wholesale + niche closeout distributors. more of then than not, they prices are anywhere between 40% - 70% below wholesale price. your profit margin will much higher and your price is so competitive than most. other than that, you can get familiar brand name items.

I have used DHGate for personal items and most (if not all) of the items are replicas (fakes basically)

While I was researching I came across worldwidebrands.com and read some reviews about them. Looks promising but they have a expensive fee to access the database of wholesalers and drop shippers.

Not recommending it but I would love to hear a non-biased review on it.

With Doba it's hard to make a profit, especially being they charge you an extra fee on top of the cost of the product. What exactly were you trying to sell and how is the question?

When I first read your post I thought you were looking to start your OWN dropshipping compnay.

Dropshipping is gonna be dead in the water this year. The margins are to tight. By the time you pay ebay listing fees and then realise that people are selling the same stuff on wafer thin margins, you make virtually nothing. Your profit would be around 10% after expenses (including your time - dont forget the time it takes to list items and then order via the dropship site plus customer contact).

I very seriously doubt that. If anything dropshipping is going to grow even bigger. Being people in today's economy are having less money to actually buy and have inventory. It only makes sense.

Although MOST dropshippers like DOBA have a very LOW if ANY profit margin. I'll say look out for swag this year.

Also I'm not being rude, but to say that dropshipping is going to be dead, imo seems like you weren't really thinking of the full picture at all.

Gray, what type industry are you looking into? I know few companies, but sometimes drop ship is not best way to go. Do you have your sales license? All documents? Because you need re-sellers license to sell products that you purchase wholesale, PM me I can show you what is out there depending on your industry your looking for i only know few.

Doesn't Doba itself sell on ebay? How will you compete with them?
