Do proxy sites still make money???

What kind of ads do you guys display? I know Adsense is not allowed on the framed pages

 

here is an example of glype + adsense

I placed the adsense in /upload/themes/default/main.php (at the end, right after the last div)

 

The default template has a configuration file where you can easily add adverts without messing with code.

I would actually have to say they make less money because it is a soft niche in terms of keywords, you won't get much for each click, but if you have the traffic, you can do well in the proxy market.

 

I got mine up 2 days ago, BlindingProxy but how will i go about getting traffic? I submitted to some Proxy sites and stuff

yes they do, i recently started my proxies www.isitgood.co.uk and www.ibuygadgets.co.uk and in the first day without promotion they made over $2 i will be making a network and link them together so i will report back with my findings

From what I observed in this few weeks, more and more people start leaving proxy business thus making it less competitors. Avid owners confirms that revenue has risen and traffic has been good. Maybe 2009 will do more good to proxy webmasters.

Lesson to learn, dont just create a network of 50 proxies and expect to get rich, start low and maintain your proxies in terms of speed and reliability. Dont submit to hundreds of proxy list at once, do some research and pick those with good traffic.

 

i actually have no experience in running a proxy website but are there any Free hosts which let you host proxy websites?

i don't want to keep my startup costs as low as possible and i plan on moving to a paid host in a while.

 

if you find free hosts they will usually ask you to place their ads

i suggest you to go with a paid host - for less than 10$ monthly you can get into proxy business - good luck!
