My apologies if I'm wrong, and I hope I won't get any infraction for this.
Since day one, I already observed the closure of Politics/Religion Forum and
I have gone across a lot of posts about the issue, pros and cons, mostly
in favor of the closure. Can I be enlightened about how the terms politics
and religion are supposed to mean? In my opinion, politics is simply the art
of government, not necessarily about personal politicians, and the study and application of the Holy Bible is actually not religion in itself. Meaning, I can discuss, abide by and live up to the Word of God, and yet stay out of religion just the same.

Politics and Religion are the two main things which can cause issues on many forums, websites, ETC..

The thing with these two subjects; is that people can take offence to either of them very fast, so its best to try and avoid them on large and reputable sites.

(Although I do not speak on behalf of Digital Point Forums or its staff, These are in my opinion, the reasons; )

Politics covers a lot of subjects but is anything which relates to running a country, state, town or city and a whole lot of different subjects could come under this.

Relegion is a bit of a "hot" subject, in more ways than one You could even get away with calling politics a religion because in some cases it provokes the same sort of reactions as Religion does.

Simply because there are so many people on this forum one thing you say which may seem perfectly innocent will seriously piss someone else off, it's very easily done too, regardless of wheather your talking about politics or religion. You just have to be carefull and think about what you say before you say it.

Precisely, politics covers a lot of subjects, hence banning its discussion
prevents us from touching on a lot of issues which are supposedly relevant
and greatly affect all our lives. How a president steers his government out
of trouble is politics; what could be wrong, for instance, if we talk about how
President-elect Obama will cause the much desired turnaround of the economy from what it is today?

I have not heard anything about the closure of the P&R section. My advice for the P&R section is that if you are easily agitated, you may not want to be there as personal attacks there will lead to a permanent ban. Also do not post when you are angry, you will make a thread which you may regret very much later.
