Mmm, This may be something strange to ask for, But I'm trying because it's the only place where I can find a host.

I wanna study in America, and so my father, Yesterday I've been browsing between student exchange websites, I read about some stuff "YES, FLEX, AFS, PAX, ACES".

I applied and filled the forms and everything, then I got deeper into these stuff to find out that these things are COSTLY, "$12,000+ :("

So I told my father that I can go study there with no more than $2500 "Plane Tickets, High School Fees"

What is the average tuition fee of public high schools ?

I'm ready to work in America for my stuff "food, etc..", I just need a place to live because that's the expensive part.

I know this is REALLY crazy, but I AM Crazy enough to try.

    About Me:

I'm a 14 (15 by March) years old Egyptian Muslim.
I speak Arabic, English, and French "Espangol Soon"
    I'm a (Straight "A"s) Guy :D
I've got no offense to other cultures, religions,etc.., means I'm not a racist.

Got any questions, Just ask :).

    Forgot to mention something,

This is just like volunteering as a host family in any of the intercultural exchange programs "AFS, PAX, ACES, YES, FLEX, etc..", and no, in these programs you don't get money, you volunteer.

So, It just like contacting the exchange student directly with middle person.

Why do you want to study in the US?

I doubt anyone here can help you.

Public high schools don't have tuition. That is why they are public. Private schools charge tuition.

What would you do about medical expenses while you are here? What about transportation?

They are free !?!?, What about Out State people, People who doesn't have Citizenship or a Green Card.

Medical Expenses like Medical Insurance ?!.. or when I get ill or an accident or whatever ?!

Transportation is my matter, so, I've gotta work for that "or my parents can send me some money".

If you move to the UK and become a resident, school is free until it ends at the age of 18. Health care is free too. Most of the cities have a free bus service too.

There, I just sold it to you :D

It even gets hot and sunny in the summer time :D

    What a free country :D

But, My problem is the accommodation, where will I live even if I come to the UK :(!?

P.S : I know that you won't host a stranger that you know online, but it is just like volunteering to one of those Intercultural Exchange Programs "I got the idea to post here from it", Because it's the only way.

Come on, I can't live in a hotel/motel for long "that'd make me penniless"

    Thx, LeVampire

But those Intercultural Exchange Programs screen all of their applicants so you can be reasonably assured that the person you are getting will be the kind of person that you wouldn't mind having in your house. ;)

I pay £4600 per year to live in University Halls of Residence.

If you lived in a house or flat you could rent 1 bedroom placed for perhaps £250-£500 per month. Perhaps only £100 per month if you lived in a total dump.

I'll live alone :( and I'm 15, well, I'm not acting as a kid but, what if anything happened to me !!

    Imagine it !

Whatever is asked to screen me can be provided just like I'd have provided to these IEPs.

Its quite safe here, although the only kids that dont live at home are those that go to boarding school and live in dorms with the other kids. Thats another option, although quite expensive I expect.

I'm willing to bet they have access to databases that the general public does not have access to, and the funds to pay for those reports as well. ;)

FYI, In egypt, they can't have that kind of access, because we aren't even recorded "the most are"
