Hi everyone. I am new to the forums (duh) but have been working on the web for quite some time as a webmaster. I have a good knowledge of what it takes to be a good webmaster, particularly in the gambling industry, and more recently in the forex trading industry. I feel that I can contribute some of the wisdom I have gained over the years, so if anyone has any questions relating to stuff like that, I would be happy to help. Cheers.

It is quite competitive, but the idea is to start shooting for some less competitive keyphrases. There are some 3+ word phrases that are not crazy competitive, but still do bring in decent traffic. If you can afford to re-invest the revenue you make from that back into the business, pretty soon you can start seeing your site move up for 2 word phrases and so on.

If you provide good content, which I strive my best to do, and you always have something new and useful to add, then you will keep your current visitors while always acquiring new ones from the search engines. That's the name of the game in any business really, but particularly so in forex. In marketing speak, it is generally twice as expensive to acquire a new customer as it is to retain an existing one. In normal speak, it means that you make most of your money from regular customers/visitors, and a much smaller percentage from those who just come and go. Any business with long term goals has to recognize that and capitalize on it.

So yes, "research, research, research" helps because it gives you new ideas for content, and we all know that content is king.

The short answer is, usually no.

Automated trading systems developed by teams of engineers, economists, computer scientists, astrologers and philosophers at the world's biggest financial institutions broke down when the economic crisis hit, and caused huge losses. So a system built by Basement Joe, selling for $59.99, is probably going to have its weak points too.

Having said that, however, there are systems that work in certain conditions and fail in other conditions so as long as you know your system, it can make you money. The problem is that the majority of these self-proclaimed gurus that sell the systems sell them as "black box" systems, which means you have no idea how they generate the trading signals, and therefore you have no idea when they will work (if ever) and when they will fail.

As you can tell, I generally do not recommend these types of systems. The forex market is a very complicated beast and complex things tend to be best handled by human hands.
