If Israel wanted to occupy the whole Palestinian land why did Israel leave Gaza and disassembled all Gaza settlements? What prevents Israel from just going there and taking the land and expelling everyone if you believe thats what israel wants? They can fire rockets and kill civilians, sometimes kidnap soldiers also, but not fight an invading army. Hezbollah merely managed to survive, if that's your definition of "winning" then ok.. Israel used literally nothing, For 33 days. There was just one or two real commando operations. No real bombings that could infiltrate deep bunkers. Israeli government was afraid to cause too much damage and kill too many civilians so they just waited for the UN to broker some sort of peace. The air raids just bombed the same targets and open spaces or abandoned buildings. Again, the hezbollah is stronger now they got more rockets, so there will be another round. We'll see what happens then.
