if this is a topic somewhere else, i apologize ... ..i searched the first 10 pages or so and was unable to find any information for my question ... so...I guess what i'm asking is ... ... if i am a CJ member and i register ONE web site as my account.. and i then set up 10 different web sites after that and add the given code from the ONE web site that is registered... will the system track ALL web site impressions, clicks and leads.... ...or will it only track the code on the site i registered..... ...do i have to actually set up all ten web site accounts under my main CJ account and reinstall each code again? Thanks to all who reply ... ..this is my first post.
Yes I guess you could, but why when you assign a different code to a different website you will be able to see what is working and what is not. You know. Makes life easier. Oh my I need to learn how to read a complete post LOL. You need to register all websites. If you post a link on a web site that is not registered it is called a invalid click and most likely you will not be paid for it.
ok .. i know it's highly advised NOT to do... as far as SEO and PR is concerned .. but i just recently bought like 10 domain names all in the same industry, I created one template i then signed up for CJ using the one templated web site and applied to my desired programs. After figuring out who i thought would work best for my industry, i added all the banners and links i wanted. then i duplicated that same template 9 more times, just changing the header and uploading to the specified domain. All told, i now have 10 sites floating around - all the same (minus the header and name) NO CJ links were changed in the 9 other templates. Now that we have a better understanding of what i have done (for better or worse) ... i guess then, that the OTHER 9 SITES .. will NOT be tracked, linked and granted pay... ..is this correct. I would like to know before i begin to add all my content pages. **Also... to those who know better .. i have no intentions of keeping all 10 sites identical ... i was just hoping to maximize my earnings while i was working on the one (and then the other ... and the other...etc) All ten sites WILL eventually be different from the other (as far as content goes - layout will remain the same) .and thanks jodyq
also .. i know this has NOTHING to do with CJ ..but in the meantime .. WHILE i work on these sites i have not indexed any of these sites with google yet, for fear of being branded badly. I am waiting until all sites are complete before i submit.
for an example, i will show you these two (of the 10): hotelsextendedstay.com and motelsextendedstay.com **this forum will not let me leave links yet, so please copy and paste the url to see. ..feedback is always welcome as well
as i look further ... as a follow-up question... ... is my PID linked directly to the registered web site? is this how this creates my limits? thanks again
the key strings were AMAZING .. I HAD to buy the domains .. i'm talking from 1,000,000 to 5,000,000 searches a month .. and AVAILABLE!! Do a search using Google's adword tool for : ''hotels extended stay'' and you'll see what i mean. This has some big potential - as do the other names i was able to grab... so i HAD to grab the others. Thought process is if i can just gain a little bit of traction, these babies are going to take off - based on the key string alone. and I-G4L... ...what is the NOT 'simple answer'? Thanks!
YES you can use the same code on all your sites. You can also use the same PID (which identifies your CJ account and gives you credit) and add your own unique SID to each site. The SID is for you own use only and could be something like site1 or site2 to help you track where the sales are coming from.
Thanks Dreamerr i obviously didn't think this was the case when i started, or i wouldn't have set it up this way. ... but then i read something somewhere (it might have been here) that said i wouldn't get credit for anything sold if it wasn't linked to the exact web site. Not that i'm pushing much money across right now, but i am still setting up content for all these sites and needed to know if i had to redo all the codes. (exhale!)
Google can and probably will index your sites without you submitting them, the googlebot works 24/7 you know and be careful putting up multiple sites with the same content, that can damage your seo efforts
I have recently discovered this and will make sure to change the others. But let me ask you.. ... i would like to basically keep the 'look & feel' of the one and spread it out to the others ... ...with that in mind .. what would be necessary to, well...'trick' the spiders into thinking these are different sites. for example ... if one of my sites has a header that is basically split into two cells or divs, with the left side, say at 40% and the right side at 60%... can i swap the 40/60 on the other site and count as a different site ... or the same idea with the main body. How far of a string do the spiders count as 'the same'. This is, of course, considering that there WILL be different content all together. It's really the layout i want - not so much duplicate content. (i hope i made sense...sorry if not) ...and Thanks for the help.
Different content is what matters, not formatting. There are hundreds of thousands of blogs using the same templates that index fine. Also because link profile is part of the equation don't link all the sites together and get links into them from different sources.
