Hi, I create free tools for users, and got good feedback from some users. I got about 100 unique visitor a day to my site, but no one register for my forum? How I can hook up my tool and forum so people would participate?

a great way to get user to sign to your forum is to offer them something for free, everyone loves the word FREE

i used to run a forum until i sold it and i was having the same problem, and i found that giving away free stuff was my ticket to sign up

yah, I already offered them free tools. What I was thinking is that I will create some more advance tools that will be aviable for login user's only. But again, if they just login and don't post, then that will creates another problem.

For e-mail marketing, I've found offering my "9 Tips for Giving an Effective Presentation" was an excellent way to get peoples' e-mail addresses. It needs to be something that can benefit them. For mine it appealed to people in business and students.

You can require people to register on the forum in order to be able to use the tools.
Be creative. You can give away stuff but require people to register to download/use them.

Hold a contest for something semi-valuable. More so than just an e-book or something. Some physical books or gift cards or something along those lines.

Every post they make can be an entry into the draw. Set rules so they know they can't simply spam your forum with crap or they'll be disqualified etc.

Have one of these at the end of each month and I'm sure it will grow if your niche is large enough.

Give-a-ways are always a good motivator. Also, start a bunch of interesting threads on your own.

In my experience, the best thing you can do to expand your forum and generate more users from your various passer-byer's, you need to offer an incentive for them to sign up! Maybe its a free Ebook or a free link to there blog on a specific page, you have to offer them somthing that they can get out of your site. People aren't going to sign up for nothing, everybody wants something ;).

Offer the something that would want them to participate. Have some contest on having the most post at the end of the month.

You should fill your site with threads. If you are just starting then better start up your own thread or just hire someone to do it for you. I could recommend forumsfirst because they are good at providing some great content. Kindly put "Postman" as your referrer.

Agreed. You need to provide good content. There thousands and thousands of forums out there.

Why would they want to join a site? Obviously you need to answer this on your web site explaining why.

    1) Give offers like Posting for hosting or get paid for posting.
    2) Limit guest visitors upto 10 posts. After that visitors have to register for accessing the forum.
    3) Arrange competition and advertise in different forums.

Yeah, can't say anything without seeing the site. It could be total crap. No offense.

But, do realize that practically all Internet users do not go to message boards and blogs. These just are not that popular. You will need thousands of visitors to get a somewhat decent amount of sign ups.

That's (part) of your problem right there.

Grant access to your tools after certain amount of posts. Plus I have to agree that it is really hard to get forums going these days.
