i have at last got the congratuations from the google team for being approved...anyway this is my website: www.fairdesigns.net does the adsense need any improvments...by the way the website is still under construction.....
clean looking site. I would make the Googe Ads have more of an appearance of being part of your page (ie. the colors) and move them down towards the middle of your page. Up in the left corner is easy to miss, because the visitors will be looking down at the content of the site to see what they can find that will help them. HTH
I like the colors of your site -- and blue is found to be the most widely accepted, pleasant color in the world - so good job. I'd make sure you don't have trapped "white" space in your design -- or blue space in this case. For instance, the left nav doesn't come all the way across to your right side panel... so there's a big chunk of space in there that kicks it off balance. Alignment is key. I'd also put those Google ads within content... make them look less like ads and more like a part of your site. Good luck!
I really don't like the color scheme for the G ads. You should make it blend more, with the link text the only part really standing out if that's absolutely neccessary. I agree with 2p that they should be within content, well said, also: nice, simple design, i like it.
You might want to try make the Ad interface blend more with the site colour. But I understand that most people want it to be attractive.
Site takes forever to load here. On 4 Meg ADSL. My ideas: The focus hotspot is just a bit lower and more to the right compared where the ads are now. Move it a bit. Either leave them stand out colour-wise for maximum attraction, or move them lover and sort of incorporate and blend them in with the content.
I agree with T0PS30, when I look at a page, I dont look at the very very top usualy, as thats where logos and other pointless non-content goes. Move it down a hundred pixels or so, as when I go to a site, I usualy look at the center - thats where the content should be. So.. just make it blend in with the content Josh
This is what I referred to: http://www.poynter.org/content/resource_popup_view.asp?id=26192 Place it in the red areas and people won't miss it (if your goal is just that, getting them to click the ads).
When I looked at the site my eyes kept getting drawn to the right. Perhaps consider a 3rd column. That would be where I'd put the adverts over their current location. On an only vaguely related noted I'd lose the 'under construction' bit. Web sites are always under construction. I think most people understand that content is continually being added. You don't see 'under construction' on microsoft.com, sun.com or google.com but you know they are continually adding content. Under construction screams a negative message.
The color for your site is appealing but i would suggest that you get a color for the Google ads that blend with the color for your site.
