The problem with using the name proxy in the domain is that many school children use proxies and the word proxy blocks the whole site whereas if it's not used they cna still access them.
Agreed.Based on research,90% of the group member is proxy owner which mean that its no use to promote your proxy at there coz nobody will see it.That why i still prefer the old method which is buy ads at proxy.org
I would say avoid the advice not to have 50+ proxies, i have slightly more than that and i have done pretty well this month. On track to smash through $800 for dec hopefully (My highest yet). Cant wait to see what 2009 brings us all. Sadly santa was not kind to me this year so my plans include buying another server just for more bandwidth (hopefully within the next few days) and even though i say 50+ proxies work, I would RATHER have a few bigger ones with a more stable flow of traffic from the search engines so i may work on that. I would also like a successful proxy list also. Remember you can join the proxy related IRC chat using the link in my sig if you want to bounce ideas of other people in realtime (Leave the IRC web page open for a while if no one is there or just pop in from time to time)
Hum there's a catch, members of proxy group are owners of proxy network and that's true, but many proxy list / proxy site / proxy feeds etc use theses group to show all working web proxies so you will have a lot of traffic and get some of backlinks from posting here. I agree with your post at 50 % but posting into theses groups are not useless.
Btw i guess my traffic boost came from proxy.org mailing list. I tried the free ads there, they put my proxy on their forum (or maybe mailing list -- i don't know but i guess i saw a yahoo mailing list group which is owned by "baron"), some middle eastern blogs copy the proxy.org "new proxy" news into their blogs and i got lot of traffic from middle east.
Yes, from my experience, if there is a traffic boost it comes from all groups from Baron Munchausen! He has more than 60,000 users in total, but there is a lot of Iran traffic. Currently I'm on a scheme, which can earn me 16,150$ in total, but with an investment of 1,500$ than work on it for 4 months, 1 hour a day (each day). After those 4 months, there is still 1 month of work doing other things and handling everything. When that is over, I should've earned 16,150$ and this is a total of: (I invested 1,500$) 16,150 - 1,500 = 14,650$ Which will be pretty nice for 5 months work on proxies, one hour a day each. And to verify, I tested this already with 150$ investment and I earned 1,654$ with that. But it's a lot easier to handle everything with lower investment (you invest less, so have more time to look at everything). Here's what i learned in my proxy venture. To avoid %0 profit if server is down, use Two or more servers for your Proxy Network.
I'm paying $70 a month for this server... it's not worth having two servers for $140 a month. Besides, I'm leaving proxies now

Hello, If you know how to promote A LOT of sites without much effort.. why won't you multiple your earnings by having more sites? If you have (example) a group with 25,000 proxy seeking users, each day you send a different proxy and keep getting traffic + money Don't think you will earn 500-1000$ within first 6 months.. maybe if you do good investment, but experience comes first.
