    True that :)

Exactly, that being said I don't understand how people think their military is the most powerful with corrupt leaders that leaves flaws and I can guarantee you that leaves flaw in military aspects as well. Just because India is fairly large, I haven't seen them go to war with any other country so before they start calling them selves the strongest and most powerful, I'd like to see them in battle first

but I do not recommend going to war, that is the last thing this world needs is another war.

Side note, we (United States of America) have put more money into our military then any other country.
    my 2 cents :)

I think many would agree that we should protect our environment rather than wars.

kasifccc let's stop this huge argument becz it will get into problems. I am not afraid but i am not such a person who want's to blame others. Think we are all humans and contribute to DP forum with niche topics and i will not post such threads in near future which makes conflict.

thats a really realist point of view, not only hitting, but chilling thought!

recently Zardari went to China for meetings, specifically for aid for its falling economy,... but he returned empty handed! .... i best beleiev the same meeting or perhaps the previous tour, Pak - China did sign some military pacts ,.... and in return Pakistan should curb terror outfits on its soil who were carrying out bombings in the Xinjiang province of China.

now Pakistan has not done much lately about it, but China itself has been facing huge issues on terrorism front.

Now China does have gr8 issues with India, and we have a long histroy there! and we have had a war in 1965, ....

but itll be interesting to see how this pans out,...
-> on one hand China (unofficially) did "try to" create problems for India during the recent Nuclear suppliers group vote, (at the behest of its long standing friend Pakistan), .... but when the group voted in Indias favour, ... in an "Official" statement China said it was not averse to India gaining civil nuclear technology!

-> but when it comes to terrorism, how will China react as a victim itself!

In an event of a flash point, India can unilaterally handle Pakistan any day,... we have had 3 wars with them already!.... but in the event China does come in (hypothetically) speaking, India will start searching for friends!

options being between long standing alley Russia, and then France, Isreal, .... we may just have diplomatic influence from US and Iran and some others,

If China comes in the question is where does US go?? with its anti terror allay Pak or against the dragon?

it could well be the prologue for the WW III !!!

am i too sleepy! i think yes, ...:D

I'm going to have to agree with you, the owner of this thread being 16 doesn't really know a lot from what I am reading, thinking India is number one, sorry but its not. I would also like to say that his political views are incorrect reading some other threads. I think he needs to do his research before he posts threads and doesn't really have any background knowledge other then the indian news paper or TV shows he reads, because you really have to step outside india to see how the world is doing right now especially when you make a thread and don't have proper grammatical usage or proper grammatical usage in your thread...

this thread is really just based on opinion but I can tell you that India doesn't have the most powerful military, I'd like to see the statistics on that, Because in 5 clicks just in google I can find information and statistics saying that the united states has the highest military budget and we also have been in A LOT more combat operations aswell as wars then india alone. So I do not see it possible at all.

    Let's face it

    1) India is NOT a super power
    2) India is NOT the most powerful military
    3) India will NOT become a superpower for as long as I live

India has so many problems, but over-patriotic ones always come and give shitty "facts" (which are not facts). Once again, people are dying on your streets - what are you going to do to stop it? If India is a superpower, WHY are people dying? No superpower abandons (sp) the poor!

Will you over-patriotic people please leave - I am (and many other people are) pissed off with you and your dreams. You are a waste of space. This isn't just Indians - but everyone who can't see their countries failure.

You are injecting some sense of realism into the thread. I would tend to agree with most of what was said but then again, India is a vast and huge country. IMHO being a super power is not the main or crucial target that they should be aiming. Instead to enable their poorest to live a decent livelihood seemed to be far more important than being a military super power.

The gap between the rich and the poor is still staggering. The documentaries I saw about those poor Indians having to catch rats for food really left a deep impression.

Yeah there is a huge difference between rich and poor. The poor is becoming more poor but we should change our country. Since india is a huge country and different states and different people it will take lot of time to get the distance between poor and rich to get more closure.
Maintaining 1 billion people is not a silly matter and we will change ourselves to change my country.

Over here we'd probably fix it by setting up a congressional committee to explore developing fatter/slower rats. :D

The first thing that can be done to solve the problem is by looking at the way the UK and US deal with poor people, and taking those ideas.
