Indian army have got the powerful military

unlike other countries we are looking for peace. But this make other countries think that we are unfit for war and many people don't know that now we have many billionaires but we have more poor people too.

 

yup, militarily India is quite strong...

it can invade bangladesh until it reaches Malaysia and Vietnam easily on paper

if no other external forces involved of course

c)Tipu Sultan against British in Third Mysore War

Our Soldiers are one of the best in the world.Even if USA turns against oneday we would defend our Motherland sucessfully..

Also one can say that we even got independence from British who were technologically superior to us..

So do n't think we are powerless.

India Military is very strong but Indian politicians are all corrupt at all levels.

we have many leaders who are muslims. We don't hate muslims but hate the terrorists . They are taking the poor muslim people to make them terrorists. Why are they doing all these nonsense only to propogate their religion.

 

What we have to understand is corruption per'se is a very human thing, condenmable but yet there.
the indian army is no diffrent, there was a recent scandle of substanderd food (afaik) bought for the jawans in kashmir, and then the petrol scandle in Leh,
but the kind of checks and balances the Indian army has its not very difficult to get noticed if ones doing something wrong, so comparitevly when it comes to the army, all misadventurers are brought to book immediately.

But when it comes to the Military Hardware, those are NOT bought by the army, those are bought by the the beuraucracy in New delhi, the defence ministry! there the level of curruption is very high! yes we have a tad outdated Hardware, But it is not the Hardware that wins you the war itself! It is the strategies you use!

in the recent Kargil war, india had the same equipment, on the other hand Pakistan had ALL HIGH TECH equipments! but the result being we drove them back to the LOC, didnt we it takes more than hardware to win!

Pakistan lets face it is governed by the army itself, and they control the economy, so it is their say what % of GDP they want to spend on defence, which is highest in south asia, and perhaps one of the highest in the world (less countries in africa).

but alas lets face it if the best of hardware were to win you wars, Iraq and Afghanistan would be peaceful places right NOW!!! i support Obama where he says high time we pull out of Iraq, and focus on afghanistan, coz the war in Iraq, to my best belief, is no longer a war on terror, Afghanistan needs the attention back.

I think these kind of threads are not good to discuss actually...why not discuss about peace? Is India #1 peaceful country? No...So don't be proud.. Powerful military is not a thing to be proud of but being peaceful country is some thing to proud of. Who cares if you have 1000's of bomb, atomic power and lots of soldiers if no one needs war.. these thing are waste money and life and nothing. Why not all peaceful country have good military ? Because they don't want war and not want to spend there lot of money in defense but in developing country, making Economic growth, stopping poverty. If India spends less money in military they can stop poverty in the country.

I am not against India but I think India should take more better steps to be a super power than just making the military powerful.

I'm glad it's not Americans talking this crap. Hopefully the rest of my countrymen realize how bad it looks to be talking about being number one. You need to earn it every day.

India has made progress in recent years economically, but the wheels are about to fall off that wagon. If India and Pakistan wage war, both countries can say goodbye to foreign investment.

 

Pakistain and China are stronger than India. It would be wise not to provoke WWIII.
