Dear DP Members, I want to know from you, how to protect folder in computer ? If my computer is on but no one can open that foler ? How ?
Which OS are you running? Most Linux/UNIX systems already have permissions set so that no one (other than administrators) can view your home folder. You can enforce this restriction with "chmod go-rxw <folder path>".
Really depends what operating system your using. If you're using Windows XP Pro you can go to the security tab and remove every user. That prevents from anywone viewing the map (unless they are on a administrator map and know the security tab since they could then give themself rights). And if you want to restore access, simple add yourself back. For a really secure option you should look into truecrypt or any other encryption program, as every option to password a map can be easily disabled using some tools.
If you use Windows, you can protect your folders with Folder Password Expert. It is very easy to use as it is a wizard that guides you through each step.
Maybe you can ask uncle Google, there is many software that would help you to protect your folder on windows
