Yes, i have faced depressions: I really had problems.

I tackled it, with slowing down, chill more and do a lot of things which i loved to do:

Especially no work, just relaxing, doing sports, meeting freinds etc., after i had some time for myself.

Take a multiple vitamin, eat better healthier foods. Depression is mainly caused by a vitamin deficiency.

Yes, I do get depressed sometimes.

I have been in serious depression once..or may be twice in my life.

Best way to fight depression is to divert your attention to things that you enjoy.

Is there any particular reason why you feel depressed...I mean heart break, job loss, death in family etc.

Try watching comedy movies....it works great for me. After all laughter is the best medicine...:).

You certainly see all points of view and perspectives represented in this forum!

The psychologist Professor Tanya Byron writes interestingly on this subject in today's (London) Times.

Well, a concoction of medications always does it for me. Doc has me on Effexor, Adderall, and Wellbutrin; seems to work for me. Even with those though some nights are just brutal going to an empty home, all alone...night after night... What works best is to get into a chat room and lose yourself in it, just find a place that interests you (topic wise) and chat away, you will never be lonely again!

I've been depressed, only after a releationship that ended:p

I tackled it by just partying and hanging out with friends, and of course finding my fiance:p

Yes I've been depressed before. It was I guess a whole week of depression. And I do not know if you would believe me but when I started to pray, my depression suddenly stopped.

Yea, I've been through depression a few times. I've also had anxiety attacks. Things have been going well for the last year or so, and hopefully things will stay the way they are (if not better).

I've been depressed in my late teenage years, probably into early 20's. But, I never had any type of suicidal thoughts.

Sure, I personally think that many people suffer from depression sometimes without even knowing it.

I have been depressed before and not noticed. I had to be told. So after that I took what I was doing carefully and slowed things down so that I can get a little better and not be so depressed.

Being better now, I see things in a better light...

Best cure for depression are positive thinking, sport and love. Use them when you are down. Personally I'm too busy to be depressed.

I think this is much more common than many people realise. People can get a bit run down and exhibit most of the clinical symptoms of depression without actually feeling depressed much, as such, but they still respond well to medical treatment for depression and feel a lot better after it.
