    Hello

Was wondering if anyone knows of a good events calendar script, preferably in PHP, otherwise Javascript.

There are some good calendar scripts out there but the catch is I need to have an 'Upcoming Events' box with a basic description on the homepage that is linked to another page with a full calendar and more details.

Would like to only have to update the events once on the calendar page and have the first line or two of each new event automaticlly placed in my homepage box (rather than doing it manually). Have thought about using an IFrame on the homepage box but am not a big fan of these.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated???

    Thanks in advance
    Scotty

This site has a list of PHP calendar applications:

    http://www.hotscripts.com/PHP/Scripts_and_Programs/Calendars/index.html

Better calendars offer RSS feeds that you can extract the upcoming events from using PHP and then re-format it and use it on our page. Here's a link to a buyers guide for web calendar applications:

    http://www.mhsoftware.com/resources/CalendarSelection/

Our calendar ( Hosted, or Installed) offers this feature. You can extract the data in RSS format and use it from an IFRAME page, a server scripting language on another server, or using AJAX.

Here's a link to our home page where we're doing the RSS feed using a PERL/CGI script.

And here's a link to our Ajax Demo:

    An IFRAME demo:

I agree with the post above. Try searching hotscripts.

Thanks for the RSS feed suggestion, I didn't even think of that!

I did have a look at Hot Scripts before posting on this forum but got so confused with the massive amount of calendars, event scripts, appointment reminders etc. etc. that I gave up. Will have another look today.

The simple list of events on your IFrame Demo looks to be what I need. I will have a look at your manual later today.

Thank you for your suggestions. Have a great festive season.
