Something Strange about Google Site Links

  1. #1
    One of my site had site links for past 1 year in domain keyword.

    but past 22 days it does not rank number 1 in Google anymore.
    But whenever i check Google Webmaster tools, It is still showing the site links.

    so does it sounds strange to you? hmmm

    I would assume you're still at the top of serps for your own domain name, and that's when the sitelinks appear.

    we have different sitelinks showing inside WMT than in the SERP.

    No i am not on the top anymore for last 1 month. but In webmaster tools it still show the site links. hmmm

    Many have reported some changes and update since the beginning of December, let's just hope it's just due to major update coming and things will back to normal after the update. Better keep getting new strong links to ensure your site will be indexed/cached more often.

    You might need to check your ranking against different Google DC's, sometimes G showing old results in their SERP's ;)

    You must be at the top for at least one keyword... I haven't seen a site get sitelinks without it.

    I've had full 8 sitelinks showing in Webmaster Tools for about 18 months, and they have never appeared in the SERP's.

    Another site got 8 sitelinks in the SERP's, but only had 3 in webmaster tools. The domain was only 30 days old when it got the 8 sitelinks, and it has full sitelinks for several terms.

    It's like the GWT and SERP's are fetching the sitelink data from two completely different locations.

    I noticed few weeks ago that i have sitelink too in google webmaster tools... My site is for a long time in first 10 results for a few keywords, but never been on the first place and i never sew those sitelinks in google searches, but they still appears in my webmaster tools...

    Search for your website, for example www.yoursite.com , you should hopefully rank first and you should see the sitelinks.

    Its really strange. But, since you still have the sitelinks in GWT, you may get your position back soon.

    i was just writing about how theyre different and checked the serp today, and they've updated overnight, serp now shows same as WMT as of today

    You might not have triggered the search query yet. Try entering your domain without an extension and see if that brings it up.
