    the best method is to have a quality site that gets linked to naturally
    get some quality link worthy content on your site and you will get links

    Or get some "linkbait" content written that attracts links.

    Article submission doesnt work as well as it once did
    try contacting bloggers, offer something for them to post something about your site, if you write a good post with a link in to your site then a alot of bloggers will be happy to post it if it benefits their readers.

    Dont just think about Google, if your site is good enough and your get good content on there it will get people talking and you will get links

    I wouldn't recommend Link Exchange Google doesn't like that sort of thing.

    I would second pixeladd, link bait with social bookmarking might be the best approach. Otherwise, directory submissions are still best value for money.

    Forum links are good in certain niche but don't work for all niche because most forums (except webmaster forums) are nofollow and can only be used for branding and traffic.

    Article submission and social bookmarking works well for me for many years.
    If you need to gain PR (for some reasons :) ) post comments to dofollow-high-PR blogs.

    M working with forums and getting more BL, but not much benifit from it. So planning to move to other methods as u said. How can start on link bait. If u can give some idea by PM will be good for me

    It take too much times to write an article.
    Most directories are not free or require link back to their sites.

    So I say forums, social bookmarks and RSS Submission are the easiest and fastest way to build your backlinks.

    the other, to get great results you should combine all effective
